As I'm blasting Charlotte de Witte in the background taking notes from Tom to start building myself – I'm going to look back at this comment months and years from now and be like.. 'yup this was it'

I want to do X, X and X because I want to be a healthy person. I have clear goals, but is being a healthy person a good "Why"? Isnt that a bit unclear? I like the thing about setting up all the rules, because its much easier to control the day, no wandering about.

What a load of crap. Find things you love and do them well. Discipline comes naturally when you care about what you do.

You don't need to do things you don't like. It's not 'really really hard'.

I'm a fourth generation lawyer and I always wanted to be a lawyer – since I could walk and talk basically. It was my connection with my father, who I was close to, and it suited my personality. I used to play 'courts' with my dolls.

Law school was the most easy, fun experience of my life.

Practice – was a challenge. The industry is corrupt. Misogynistic. Dishonest. All about money, and nothing about Justice. Which is not what I had been taught. I saw none of the honour and integrity I had been taught about from my family, in the industry itself.

I did it my way, kept my integrity and after years of navigating my own path, have just figured out exactly what I want to do and how I want to practice.

"If it comes easy it won't work" is the last thing I would say. I would say, make sure you enjoy the journey. No matter how hard it is, if you do it slowly, it will be easy and the secret is to do it slowly, enjoy the journey and don't compromise your integrity. 🥂

Paraphrasing: “Meaning, fulfillment, progress. We’re hardwired for that!!”Yes! I so agree! And I love what you said about retirement! My husband and I are close to retirement age but we say we don’t ever plan to retire bc we have so many goals and dreams and things that we love to do, and much of that revolves around serving others.
