Erm, Is This Noel Gallagher Song Really Good Enough?!

Justin Hawkins Rides Again | December 24, 2025

One of Britain’s greatest rockstars has just released a new single. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are back with the new song “Pretty Boy”. I am and have been a big Oasis fan for a long time, so let’s see if this song holds up to his reputation as one of the best songwriters around.

Adam Neely did a great video on 'The Devil's Interval' and he argues there's really very little evidence it was banned or even associated with the demonic. It's more likely that it was known as a 'devil' to sing. A misunderstanding

'He needs a post chorus-tag@? LOL He's a SONGWRITER first sir and a rhythm guitar player. He says he's never considered himself a lead guitarist as hes not good enough. "Challenging ears", 'diablo intervals' and 'Pentatonic lead guitar solos' are something he hasn't heard of. Those things are learnable to you me and everyone else. ANYONE can do it.

But no one can go to a college and learn to write the masterplan, wonderwall or live forever. He's a d*ck, but hes a songwriter and a half!!

There's no bigger legend in their own mind than Noel Gallagher, a common Beatles knock-off artist and drunken manlet with a baseless big mouth. He's basically is a marginally talented pub punk with limited ability or musical endurance. He seriously, and with a straight face, says his band was the best of the 90s. Absolutely, hysterically laughable. That would be REM or RHCP, punky boy. When it comes to mainstrean R&R, Oasis catalog will be a mere musical footnote in the long run.

I don't want to hear this song, lol. How can I after Definitely Maybe, Wha'ts the Story… and all the b sides and rarities of Noel Gallagher songs that's as good as anything out there, for my generation. I was fortunate enough to see Oasis at Coachella, during the Hindu Times album, and it was amazing. Surfed San Clemente all day, then arrived at Coachella right as Oasis was taking the stage, because I wanted to see the only band worth seeing there without ruining it with anything before. 😆 AS GOOD AS IT GETS.

I loath Oasis, released the same song 100 times, dressed up with plagiarism to disguise the lack of talent. No group has ever made me break the sound barrier in my rush to turn off the radio like Oasis. A desert of talent surrounded by blooms.

Well when Steve Vai, one of the top 5 guitarists of all time was in Whitesnake is that such an insult? If he'd said he wouldn't cut the mustard in the darkness then maybe 😝 jokes JH!
