Drugs & Guns: Rainbow Farm’s Last Stand | Tales From the Bottle

Qxir | October 12, 2024

It’s the siege you’ve probably never heard of; find out why Rainbow Farm found itself under attack by the law, and why it wouldn’t happen today.

“Rainbow Farm was a pro-marijuana campground in Newberg Township, Cass County, Michigan, United States, that was involved in a fatal police standoff on September 3, 2001. The campground was run by Tom Crosslin and his life partner Rolland “Rollie” Rohm, and was home to two annual festivals, “HempAid” and “Roach Roast”, which ran from 1996 through 2001. The operation ended with the burning down of all the structures on the property and the deaths of both Crosslin and Rohm.”

Correction: Members of Janis Joplin's band, Big Brother and the Holding Company, visited Rainbow Farm – not Janis Joplin herself (she died in 1970)!

Sorry for the audio quality, I think my mic gain was a lil too high!

Dude, while you’re in the middle of an argument with someone about getting paid, you have the mental capacity and physical ability to manufacture a complete firearm with the engraving and paint work and the springs and the casting all done while you’re in the middle of an argument with someone that’s really impressive. If this guy was really smart for producing that firearm I hope he has his own firearms manufacturing company and makes tons of money off the backs of killing innocent people.

happy to hate you and deny you your civil liberties and care little for your safety if they decide it steps on them, they have a problem with you asking the to consider the speed limit when driving like Aholes' where children play. no respect for kids

The part where they pay for their neighbor's hotels so they didn't end up in the potential crossfire is so heart warming, I don't like stoners but these two were clearly pulling more than just their own weight

Qxir: "why would be upset at rainbow farms? It's just people smoking weed and listening to music.".

Qxir 30 seconds later: "a teenager was at the 420 event and crashed into a school buss on his was home.".

Honestly, Rainbow Farm, Waco, and Randy Weaver show one thing: The Feds clearly are a bit ham handed. They're not dictators or anything. Just stupidly willing to get the big guns out. That's it.

Using white supremacy and being involved in a cult as a justification for what happened at Waco and ruby ridge is ridiculous. Yes both are socially frowned upon but neither are illegal.

What makes me laugh most about the US Government is how they are so against groups of like-minded people coming together and organising while forgetting that the country they govern was creating by those very same like-minded people.

Clearly there wasn't enough research done in the making of this video. Rainbow farms has been back and doing multiple events a year for a while now. They've been doing that since well before this video was posted. They have multiple social media pages and a website as well. How did you not find any of that in your research?

As an American, I can say our government is hypocritical. We are not, in fact, the land of the free. We are the “land that is freer than some places”. This rainbow farm event, as well as the numerous attempts by our government to go against our first amendment such as the times our government tried to censor video games, not to mention the numerous times protesters were met with military force (look up the kentstate massacre. Innocent protesters protesting war and advocating for peace were murdered by our government)
