I saw Ace open for Alice Cooper a year or so ago. He was awful. He looked like he’d rather be anywhere else, plus, he played the worst guitar solo I’ve ever seen played by a “professional” musician. There is no way that Ace would ever be able to keep up with modern KISS. Unfortunately, Tommy’s spaceman imitation is better than anything Ace could muster. Hopefully, the players retire before it gets any worse.

Gene is a load mouth fat head, didn't like him in the 80's, still can't stand him. ACE is the man, so much talent in this man, and they tried to destroy him. He's the talent in KISS, or used to be in KISS.

Kiss was on fire in the 70's. A fire so hot we still crave it today. People say shit like they weren't the Beatles. But they were. They were 4 guys much arger than the sun of their parts.

Tommy catches so much flak because he's not just playing Ace's licks, he emulates the entire on stage person of Ace. Eric doesn't do that. And listening to Sonic Boom and Monster, I don't hear Peter's drum style or vocals in particular but Tommy's still caged into Ace's sound–and the "space/electricity" themes in the lyrics just screams "copycat." And the truth is probably that Gene and Paul insist on Tommy remaining "Ace 2.0" instead of branching out a bit, projecting his own personality.

I saw Kiss only 3 times. My first was at MSG in 1977 and I saw them on the Psycho Circus and finally in 2010. After Alive ll I started listening to heavier stuff. Ace, who didn't want to be him. I went 3 years as Ace for Halloween. Growing up they were my favorites for the 70s. I'm not saying their other album's are bad.

I'm a 55 yr old man.
I grew up on Kiss in the 70s.
Loved them my fav " character " was Ace Frehley,he was the sound of kiss.
The infighting and egos meant they were destined to implode. Sadly at the time of their popularity peak 1978-80. On Dynasty Peter didn't even play the drums !? And was gone by Unmasked the following year !!
For the past 20+ years and returning to the make up and not writing new music ,Kiss have become their own cover band and karaoke band.
Paul has stated that the industry now, has made it not financially viable to be successful to write new music ! What a load of Bullshit.
What he's saying is they've past their best and have nothing left to write about, so they've resorted to being their own greatest hits karaoke band! I mean how Rich do these self absorbed greedy M.Fkrs need ?
So its about the $$$ ,Not the music ,not the art ???

And Gene & Paul's ego living in the past when they were a world class band in the 70s.

In the 2020s the musical environment Kiss are irrelevant a carcass of a cover band unable to write new music and evolve.
Their egos outway their ability to be relevant today. They have proven to be liars. And to be constantly disrespecting Ace and Peter via mainstream and social media is a result of past unresolved bitterness and the fact that 90% of real legacy fans only care about seeing / listening to the original line-up..
And that both Ace/ Peter have successfully and happily moved on in their lives.
I mean this tour Paul's been caught out lipsynching !!!
They should have called it a day for the " Farewell tour " of 2000.
That would have shown grace and dignity.
Because they've shown the world that gene and Paul's just cannot handle not being in the public eye.
This " End of the road " tour will be the same , they'll find some excuse to explain away to still be around!

Carnival of Souls was actually a good grunge album, if they hadn't been Kiss before that and they lived in Seattle they probably would have been hailed as one of the great grunge bands, but because they were Kiss people said oh that's just Kiss trying to go grunge to keep selling records in the grunge era, which was true, but still it turned out surprisingly well.

The KISS Camp and Doc McGhee can spout all that non-sense that they want about how it does not matter who is in the make-up, but it is just that, NON-SENSE! Put two other scabs in Gene and Paul's make up and I guarantee you there will be no big world tours going on. Even with Gene and Paul, KISS has to have another name band on the bill in order to have a successful tour. So spout all the B.S. you want about it does not matter who is in the make-up all you want Doc , Gene and Paul but I and many other KISS fans are not buying the B.S.. All you 3 are doing is sniffing up all the money you can, while it is there to snort. More power to you, but let's call it what it is. I think Doc McGhee is totally wrong on this if kiss go back get Bruce keep Eric singer put out a new album go back and do a world tour with the hot in the shade or Revenge Stage production at least for a year I think it would be really profitable because kiss fans would want to see it one more time speaking for me and lots of other kiss fans I know this to be true and was after high heels a costumes that would be no limitations they would be better performers
