Billy Knight is a scumbag lmao
You can literally see when he realized he could shill his new band.
First he says, "No, that's not us." Then he makes the realization and says, "Yeah, totally. Now check out my new band. It's way better!"

Now that we know it was FEX who did this, it feels good to have confirmation Billy was a dirty LIAR.

    Or just confused.

It was frustrating seeing people insist it was Statues in Motion when it wasn't.

They have been found ! 🎉🎉🎉🎉

The bands name is Fex and the actual title of the song is "Subways of your mind" the version all of us had was aa earlier demo version and a better finished version has been uploaded plus 2 more songs by the same band. Also sounds like the band is now thinking of reuniting and releasing some of there music.

During that time there were literally thousands of synthpop amateur bands in Germany at any point in time, most of whom never got a record deal, hence their demos are all that's ever existed, in within 40 years can easily be forgotten. Heck, I spoke to a singer from an 80s synthpop amateur band in South Germany about a song they had on their demo tape, and he wouldn't even remember ever doing so. Eventually some vague memories returned but only after I sang a few lines from up my head… So good luck finding that needle in the haystack!

Until a CD comes out with the actual band with the song on it, then i will be convicted.. its a great lost song. We need those lost somgs and bands from the 80s to get a cd release

I love hearing about these interesting lost songs and especially from underrated bands or lost media like bands. Also people went from my dad works at Nintendo to my dad made this mysterious song. It's funny and great. Cool video. ^_^

I don’t even think the 2 bands sound anything alike. Statues in Motion sound more like Joy Division or Echo and the Bunnymen, much more post punk.
The mystery song sounds more like a Dollar General version of Simple Minds or some other 80s pop band.

Not sure if you've already been told, but the song "Ulterior motives" was found on a 1980s porn soundtrack, the 17 second clip was the only one without lewd overdubbing, and the song is now available on spotify.

also, celebrity no.6 has been positively IDed.

any chance of an update video for both if you've not done one already?

The recording we hear, may be a later recording from someone who used the synthesizer and recorded over it. Since it wasn't released. And to avoid lawsuits they have been intentionally remained elusive.
