Mike Patton has been a highly requested video by you lot, so today I’m looking at Faith No More and their classic “Epic”. I loved this song back when it came out, that’s why I’m reacting to it. If you have a suggestion of another Mike Patton track I should look at, tell me in the comments! I know this isn’t everyone’s favourite or a deep cut, but let’s have a look anyway!

The difference in vocal is mike sings with tone and pitch. Anthony's vocals are flat as a tortilla and calling him pitchy is a compliment.

The old pick in the hole… life hack… line the pick up right under the sound hole, then flip that guitar with a fast hard spin, and a dead stop . inertia will keep the pick in place then it will drop straight down..

What Anthony Kiedis did to Mike Patton from Faith No More on tour is unforgivable, not only did they have to endure the drugs and drunk mess, that were flat out as evil as you can get, Kiedis would go into his trailer or green room and tell him to stop copying me?The Mike Patton & Anthony Kiedis Feud is backward, Kiedis once Faith No More fell out of the limelight, it was Kiedis who put on the boxing gloves, boxing robe with hood, and bright ponchos…and in 1987 didnt move around the same way he did later on tour or video.

You can hear the similaritiesā¦but itās more like A guitar player hearing a sick lick/motif, learning it ( stealing it š) incorporating it into a song is how you make the lick your own. Mike picked this up like Iād imagine Van Halen trying Gypsy Jazz or something. Immediately emulates-then incorporates

I donāt give a fuck about the whole āPatton is more talentedā than Anthony. āKiedis sucksā blah blah blah. Fact is that Kiedis was the innovator of funkadelic punk rapping. He did it before everyone. He had the style, energy, and charisma to make people love the RHCP. If Patton was the frontman for the Peppers, I wouldnāt even have become a fucking fan š yeah heās talented, but Iād prefer someone like Kiedis who clearly has talent, but heās more natural/genuine, and doesnāt come off as corny. Someone classically trained or that has natural super talents can easily sound good doing something, to some people he sounds better (which is subjective depending on what youāre into), but heās doing something that someone else already did and he claims that he isnāt š š¤¦āāļø RHCP SHITS on FNM. FNM is that mainstream āsuburbanā lovers rip off, period.

It's never occurred to me to compare the two. Apples and Oranges. If anything, Keidis rips off Iggy Pop's style.
Mike Patton has his own unique stage presence. He's leaps and bounds more talented.

There is no doubt Mike borrowed Anthony's performance style. It can't be argued.
Of course Anthony is nowhere near the singer Mike is, it's not even fair to compare them that way. But, Anthony is at the front of the line in fusing rock/punk/funk/hip hop. That, also, can't be argued.
I hate that Anthony used his status and power to keep FNM off of big shows, but that's business. Nothing else.
