Deltron 3030 Unveils Anniversary Tour Plans

Pitchfork | April 30, 2025

Deltron 3030 Celebrates 25 Years with Nostalgia-Fueled North American Tour

In an era where nostalgia reigns supreme, Deltron 3030, the hip-hop supergroup composed of rapper Del the Funky Homosapien, producer Dan the Automator, and turntable maestro Kid Koala, is set to usher in the 25th anniversary of their groundbreaking self-titled debut with a North American tour. Kicking off on July 18 in Vancouver, British Columbia, the trio will perform the entire Deltron 3030 album at each stop, promising fans an immersive journey through their sci-fi influenced soundscapes and lyrical prowess.

The tour will navigate the West Coast before taking a brief hiatus, resuming on September 24 in Minneapolis. Fans across the U.S. and Canada will have the chance to bask in the nostalgia as Deltron 3030 brings their dystopian narratives to life in cities like Chicago, Toronto, and Washington, D.C. The tour will conclude on October 6 at the iconic Webster Hall in New York City, with Kid Koala and soulful newcomer Lealani joining as opening acts.

Deltron 3030’s self-titled album, which first hit shelves in 2000, has since become a touchstone in the genre, blending intricate rhymes with innovative production techniques that still feel fresh today. The album’s clever storytelling and futuristic themes resonated with a generation of hip-hop enthusiasts, setting a high bar for conceptual works in the genre.

In 2016, the group unveiled a live album featuring interpretations of tracks from their follow-up project, Event II, with notable collaborations from artists like Zack de la Rocha and Mike Patton. This history of collaboration adds further excitement for fans as they prepare to hear the original material performed live once more.

This anniversary tour serves not just as a celebration of their legacy but also a reminder of the cultural impact Deltron 3030 has had within the hip-hop community and beyond. Be prepared to witness a fusion of artistry that’s shapeshipped genres and defined eras.
