Dead Poets Society is so good, but it’s one of those movies, kinda like Saving Private Ryan, that you’ve got to prepare yourself to watch. I love it, but it can be too much.

Heartbreaking film that I could only watch once
The tragic thing is that Neil's parents meant well, but they went about it in the completely wrong way

I love Robin Williams. I've been watching him since Mork and Mindy, and it's always been comedy. So, seeing him in such a serious roll was a change, and one that was an absolute tear jerker. I won't lie. I cried when Neil died, and cheered when they "stood up" for their teacher. It was perfect. It really was. This is still one of my favorite movies to this day. Robert Sean Leonard would go on to star in the hit telly series, "House, M.D.," and I saw a lot of Neil's vulnerability in his character. It's hard to believe that this came out 37 years ago. It seems like it wasn't that long. But time seems to move much faster when you're an adult. Carpe Diem, folks. It's never too late.
