Anyone else enjoy these extensive Bowie sets, or do you think they're just cash grabs? I prefer the 'Hunky Dory' one to be honest.

The overall sound of the Ziggy album was amazing. Bowie's voice and Mick Ronson's guitar riffs were a perfect match.

Cool , Ziggy played guitar ! I do wish I had this box set . I do have the Ziggy stand alone blu-ray in 5.1 and Atmos , crazy good ! You should get a 5.1 rig . Even a small rig can be amazing . Myself probably being the exception , I built an Atmos theater in my barn and it took me a decade . I listened to Hackett Rothery's new release tonight , Roaring Waves . A modern prog epic in Atmos , outstanding ! I will hit Ziggy tomorrow night , you pointed the direction . Many thanks !

Am I the only one to intensely dislike the ubiquity of Bowie smoking in his photos? The idea of an alien coming to Earth and then taking up a habit that kills you is beyond belief. Why did Bowie particularly like his photo taken when he was smoking? I can’t think of another musician/singer who so identified themselves with the habit. Some did, but not quite the whole hog as the lad himself.

Bowie was a main component of my musical landscape growing up. Each album was unique and had iconic tracks. I don'tknow anyone else who changed as much as he did.

This box, and the Hunky Dory box, Divine Symmetry, are superb. I had hoped the series would have continued into Diamond Dogs etc. I suspect exhaustion has set in after the eras box sets and other releases.

An incredible album, hard to believe he wrote I around the same time as Hunky Dory, so different.
I own this and the Divine Symmetry box set and as you say they are worth the price just for the artwork and books alone.

It’s a magnificent album. The Dolby Atmos blu ray ( Ken Scott production) is an incredible listen. If you haven’t heard it you’re missing out big time.

This is an essential purchase? Umm… not for anyone other than Bowie acolytes it isn't. The original most certainly is though.

Ziggy Stardust was the first (full price) album I bought, back in '72.
To me it was, and remains, an utterly perfect musical and artistic statement.
I am sure I will not be the only Bowie fan who views all this box set stuff as just so much superfluous fluff.

Lie in a darkened room staring out of your bedroom window at the starry night sky while listening to ziggy at maximum volume, takes you into a wonderful different universe. 😊
