Mark has great taste in 80’s Hair Metal! The riffs on “The Ultimate Sin” were a little ahead of their time; a lot of drop D riffs that I think were phenomenal! I agree with his assessment of Demartini; one of the best from that scene!

The Ultimate Sin is the best album Ozzy ever released… The creativity on that album is over board… Jake could have done so much more.. but he had restraints on… Ozzy fucked up.

Warren DeMartini is probably the best guitarist to ever play in my opinion.

The songs from Ozzy's Ultimate Sin album are easily the best Ozzy tunes for me…Musically, his other albums are no comparison to the Jake E Lee songs of Bark at the Moon and Ultimate Sin.
I mean it's not even close.

I think the production on the Ultimate Sin sounds bright and crisp, especially Jake's guitar parts…….I like BATM, but hated the albums overall final mix quality, it's like they EQ'd everything with all the bands on the flat settings. The Ultimate album is the exact opposite with.concerning Jake's sound. It's like he came alive on the Ultimate Sin album.

The Ultimate Sin gets a lot of crap now cause it is a little more "glammy" compared to the others, but that was the time back then, that's what was selling.. And Jake ripped it up on that entire Album.. And Killer of Giants is one of my all time favorite songs as well.. Jake got a raw deal for so long, and he didn't deserve it. That guy deserves respect from respected players so it's nice to hear this coming from Mark… He could have easily jumped on a bandwagon and played it safe and said yeah Blizzard of Oz w/ Randy..Which I'm not downing Randy whatsoever.. Randy was the reason I picked up a guitar in the early 80s as a kid. But, Mark talked about Jake and the Ultimate Sin.. Very cool. And very nice for someone to give Franky Hannon some props.. That guy is so under rated.

Not a huge Ozzy fan but love the two Jake albums. Such a distinctive style and with tasteful embellishments not aided by a Floyd Rose and not overdone like Zak who just pinches and squeals too much. Not a duff track on The Ultimate Sin 🙂

One of my favorite albums ever is Retraced by Jake E Lee. He had a great band on that and although the songs are covers, it's the stuff that really influenced Jake and his playing is really inspired…everyone's is. He's of that generation of guitarists right before mine that was into Robin Trower, Mick Ronson, Montrose and guys like that.

For a long time, I never knew Jake wrote the guitar into to Ratt’s Never Use Love. Listening to it after the fact, you can definitely hear Jake.

Glad someone is throwing props towards Hannon and Tesla. Tragically under-rated band back in the day. And they've always seemed like genuinely nice people who were just doing their thing and enjoying the ride. Loved 'em back then, still love 'em today. #GoodMemories
