Craig Ferguson on David Letterman

I miss Craig's show. It was irreverent, unhinged, and hilarious.

Letterman, Conan, Colbert, and Mr. Ferguson are my Mt. Rushmore of talk show hosts. Honorable mention to Seth Meyers as well.

I was a huge LLS fan and I admit I was quite miffed Craig walked away from it when he did –
because it was the last truly funny late night TV show and we've not seen any to rival it since.
I thought he was a damn fool for walking away, in fact…it was obvious they were letting him do
pretty much whatever he liked on it.

Well…
I apologize, Craig.

I didn't take into account the ramifications of Letterman leaving on your show.
It just didn't even occur to me that the CBS posse would come ridin' for you once Dave was gone,
so please accept my apology for holding a grudge.
One thing I won't apologize for, though – your show was not only the last of its' kind, but one of
the best as well. Thank you for 10 years!

Not the point of the video, but can we all acknowledge how annoying it is when people do shit like Neal did toward the begging of the conversation regarding "Dave owns the time slot". Everyone knows what that means, no one is confused and thinking some bizarre concept outside of context already established. Neal feels the need to try and "correct" Craig. At first it feels conversational, but then his tone changes "No, you can't physically OWN time…". Craig doesn't let him get away with it, flips a joke on it, and uses the phrase multiple times after that. If Neal thought he was setting up a joke, it didn't come off that way at all, it came off like he was wagging a finger at Craig with a "Well, technically…" kind of comment.

Craig was such a breath of fresh air. Dave will always be the GOAT in my eyes, but Craig's genuine nature and don't give a fark attitude was absolutely delightful. I miss Carson sometimes, but I profoundly miss both Dave and Craig. He was so right to get out when he did, before the corporate network goons could have a go at him. They would have made him miserable and destroyed everything that was good about his show. All good things must come to an end and it's preferable that they do so before they go into decline.

Two extremely intelligent, funny, and creative fellows. Great conversation.

I got lucky at work because most of the groups I worked with were tight. We lunched with each other, very often had dinners with each other and quite often met up on the weekends at each others home for swimming or bbq’ing. When traveling with each other we went site seeing and exploring. I just retired and I f’ing hate it! I miss my friends and colleagues although I still meet up at lunches often.

I loved all these guys from David aka father time, colbert and him. I think they wouldn't have changed him if given Colbert old show. And they were dead set against the politic aspect.

Great questions for Craig, and great job of listening thoughtfully to the answers.
