Cotton Clifton is the relentless engine of the American underground. After a long stint as the sidekick for The Kernal and head of his own band The Pickers, Cotton Clifton delivers Gulf Coast folk that proves his road-worn pedigree. His music is the earth and current of the South, a sound forged in the migratory path from Louisiana to the high-stakes session world. Here, the weight of his black cowboy hat anchors a song about a persistent, unyielding sorrow in a steady current that cannot be redirected by geography or time.
