Your outro music has been driving me nuts every time I hear it bc it sounded so familiar but I just couldn’t put my finger on where I’d heard something like it before… And then it clicked… it reminds me of Gir from Invader Zim! I know it’s not an exact match (obviously bc copyright) but it’s close enough that now I’m singing “Doom doom doom!” at the end of every video… which I guess is also really fitting for many of your vid topics… like this corn & capitalism one😅😅
the primary purpose of many corn/soy/commodity farrms is to be a tax shelter , the subsidies that keep the grain price in the green is just gravy on top

Lots of shitting on capitalism without covering how corn subsidies makes it artificially cheap to produce it and since the resulting corn is so cheap it becomes a primary input whenever possible. Had there been no agricultural subsidies however farmers would diversify far more in what they grow.
Fun fact: many settlers in pioneer days died because their diet consisted of almost nothing but corn, which is toxic if you eat too much of it because of a chemical that builds up. This is definitely not an allegory or anything.
