   Hey everybody! When I posted this video on Patreon yesterday, a few people asked how the revenue split for Record Pull works. I wanted to provide that same info here with the video’s release on YT.

   The gist is – I work with a third party company who coordinates with labels and rightsholders to secure access to music. When someone submits their music to the platform, they're able to select what percentage of the ad revenue they want. Could be a 50/50 split, could be all of it, could be none of it even. It's whatever they prefer. And if you’re concerned about copyright strikes or blocks, this is all above board so that shouldn't be an issue.

   The view point of the artist: every time their song or a part of it is played they have rights to own their rights/money. If a part of a song is used in advertisement, in a film, a documentary …. they have rights. They also have rights when their songs are used in playlist. The artists, creators, musicians are killed! Making songs does not give them money. Being creative …. all kind of labels, You Tubers, spotifiers, streaming media, film etc. use the material. Block a video …I would say no but … the rights should go to the creators, musicians, producers and of course if it is made by a label …. they also have rights. Claiming an original home studio drum solo by a label …that is also killing the musician. Now there are shorts and …. people watch more to shorts than a whole song. So, artists should earn money also if short parts are used. In the past a Prince song on a jam session could not come on You Tube. Michael Jackson songs were also very protected. In the first years of You Tube i was forced to only upload original music , own creations, own productions/recordings/mixes on You Tube. Nowadays we can make drumcovers. My channel is not producing money but i can now publish all kind of (amateur) performances of songs, compositions, arrangements. As an active You Tuber i have the opinion that the artists/creators so earn / be given their rights. The same: if i make an original song, drumtrack , tune, short, etc. that is ued by others i also want money of it if they earn money with it.

    to be honest if im watching a reaction to a song or album I have most likly already heard it over and over as well as bought and paid for more copies then the norm .. if I havent heard it I would have little interest in watching spoiler reactions about the same for movies tv show and so on ..

    Bull shit lawyers when they do not understand definitions and meanings along with there synonyms to set things in place that is right and correct my friend right is right wrong is wrong the two are opposites they do not connect in a cycle of words where they are in the same family.the point is the words have a cycle and connections and the true answers can be find for any questions 😊

    Good example I picked up this pen I'm using it is it yours if yes no problems oh you picked up someone else's pen did you asked if you can use their pen?my friend the problem is as simple as this if I created it,it is mine not yours to do what you want to put in words for your gain………….fair use is something as of using a pen at the bank let's you to sign something that needs to be signed not pick it up and walk off with it without permission.fair use is only something that is meant not to go past the reason of it's true purpose of it's original in any aspect and what we have here is they went past and beyond as if the pen is mine and or thinking they deserve it.

Every video ever should title the artist's name, brief bio & origin, album name song covered is taken from between the: banner title, description, comment from the author, appear in the video itself etc

    So Rick Beato cited UMG (Universal Music Group) as the company putting in the most copyright claims, with a significant surge in the last couple of months.
    So this is just my opinion, and feel free to disregard – I do think that UMG is using AI based tech or third party company to scrape YT for their (UMG's) content.
    Either this was a cost cutting measure for UMG or someone is getting paid by the volume of claims being made.
    I believe (until someone gets a mole inside UMG and figures this out) that UMG has gone AI with these claims.
    This begs the question though, if this fever dream on mine has any basis in reality – is UMG's use of AI for these claims, legal or ethical?
    If the AI was 'trained' to look for lyric, chords and harmonies etc matches with UMG datasets, do the artists (and producers) agreements with UMG allow for the AI to be 'trained' on the songs they created.
    Just a thought.
    This has been a mindless pontification into the netherspace that is YT video comments, please return to your fact-based reality. 😁

    I think one series of videos that perfectly illustrates just how genuinely broken Fair Use and copyright law are both on Youtube and in the US is Emplemon's "Youtube Copyright Metagame" trilogy. It outlines how Youtube sees copyrighted material, outlines how copyrighted material can be snuck past Youtube's system, and dissects the US's outright broken and corrupt copyright law

    So how does Record Pull work? Wouldn’t it still get copyright striked? Do the Labels knows you’re re uploading their music? I get the artist is getting paid but what about the Labels? I’m not trying to sound negative i just don’t know how the channel works??

    I posted a 6+ hour video of gameplay including commentary, reaction, analysis, the whole thing, to my channel of, at the time about 20 subscribers. It got claimed and I got my first copyright strike over 19 seconds of music that I spoke over the entire time. The song in question is literally on the artist's website with a disclaimer that it's ok to use. And I'm not even monetized so the label that claimed it literally forced ads on a non monetized video so they could claim it because their song appeared in literally .00088% of my video. It's absolute BULLSHIT

    Why would you expect anything more from a country that prioritizes profits over literally everything else. This is going waaaaaaaaaaaaay past just YouTube. AI has already destroyed copywriter protections in America. It's not going to get better, nothing ever does in America. Get used to it.
