Imagine a lawyer with a SUPER thick Wisconsin accent just cracking open a beer in the middle of a testimony or something, and whenever he stands up to question the witness he says to the person next to him 'Ope, lemme squeeze right past'cha'. Or, better yet, all the questions are about hunting, fishing, and which beer is best. And, at the end of questioning, he gives the old 'Tell yer folks I says 'Hi''. Oh, and, turns out the judge is Midwest too, and the only line he has is 'Okay, let’s keep 'er movin''.
Petition for upstate New York to be adopted by the Midwest. Upstate, not meaning anything north of New York City, but referring to anywhere north of Poughkeepsie, East of Rochester, South of the Adirondacks, and west of Vermont and Massachusetts. We very often fish and hunt, as well as use some Midwest slang, and most importantly, many people in this region of New York have a bag full of other bags under their sink or microwave.
