It should be noted that Commodore just announced they would lock down the "firmware" so expect a walled garden in the future and less community support. In other words, buy something else.

I was just explaining to my son this music in the background is called dubstep…it was popular around 15 years ago (before he was born) he had no idea he just thought it sounded awful and I agree with him.

Ours just arrived, and it is fabulous.
What a wonderful way to bring the C64 back to life. Peri has done an amazing job.
Hats off to him for bringing the brand back and added some modern design and features.

been watching you for a decade. This is constructive.
This is real hard to watch with the flickerโ€ฆ like nearly had to click out. Glad that it is not the entire video. What frame rate were you filming in. You are PAL right? So shutter at 1/50 05 1/100?

21:12 That why I still prefer CRT, just few month ago I tried Quake 3 Arena on CRT after 15-20 years and I forgot how better response times (input lag) was then… Probably even 1000Hz OLED will never be same like proper CRT with analog output!
BTW Did you know, that last GPU which support proper analogue out is GeForce 980 Ti?

MORNING! found your channel because of the translucent c4 even though i wasn't really a commodore fan at the time. my main PC for almost a decade was the Coleco Adam, upgraded in ways japan never imagined. Im heading over to your Atari ST story next as it was "the one that got away" But did the Coleco Adm make it to the UK in the 80s? One I discover CP/M and stopped accidentally killing my DDPs it was amazing! thanks for al your work

Was going to send this video URL to my son so he could watch this with my grandson (am thinking of gifting a C64U to my grandson), but the use of expletives ruled that out. Always disappointing when YouTubers take the attitude of self-limiting their content to adults only

Iโ€™d love to see a DIY way to make the Starlight Edition keyboard less bendy๐Ÿค—
The simpler to implement, more widely available, and more affordable the solution, the better!โœจ

THANK GOD the High Table hadn't upgraded to all new Commodore 64 Ultimates…

With those multiple SID chips, reliable power supplies and peripherals, they would have found JOHN WICK much faster ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

I have C64G, 1541 Ultimate II+ and scannerboy sync interface, to sync defMON tracker with my midi synths, or Game boy, but it is in user port, so probably i cannot use it in this C64 Ultimate, because of lack of user port.

Way of the Exploding fist, IK+ — boy I played those so long, that brought back memories. Might have to get one of these since the price of PCs are going through the roof these days with all this AI crap.

I still have a SX-64 which took a hardware dump the second time but the built in scree and the 3โ€ disk drive still work it would be nice if this board would work in it it was nice to have a early lap top computer yes it only has a 3โ€ screen but also worked with a tv or the old Commodore monitors or the video and out using the old RCA jacks like a vcr

3:06 mentions a paper LETTER that is included. No such letter was inside my basic beige box, so it must be for the Starlight or Founder's editions only?

Thatโ€™s a nice looking Christmas demo @ 8:07 . ๐Ÿ˜‰ You captured the whole idea well – allowing people to relive Christmas 1984 with a new demo.

Great review! Christian and his team have poured so much love into this project, itโ€™s nice to see them getting the recognition they deserve. ๐ŸŽ„

Do you do voice overs for security awareness training? I'm taking our next mandatory session, and if the narrator isn't you, he sounds almost exactly like you.
