Mariah Carey didn't really want to release her Merry Christmas album that early period in her career. I got your point but there's just something with Mariah that sets her apart from other musicians. She also wrote and produced most of her biggest hits including her Christmas classic.

I love Christmas Time. We hear it a bit more often in the UK, I think. Merry Xmas Everybody by Slade is completely crazy and falls into a similar place.

Phoebe Bridgers – Christmas song… yes… what a generic title but what a good and raw song
Phoebe Bridgers – Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas is a different version of the classic that is in no way generic but actually plays on the dark and sad side of this song
Hurts – All I want for Christmas is New Years Day
Future Islands – Last Christmas a Wham cover that one can actually digest

my favourite artists for non cover christmas songs are definetly Pomplamoose, The guy who wrote still alive for Portal (i forget his name), and Lemon Demon, and of course sufjan stevens, in terms of bands that have done covers i really like The Oh Hellos, Pomplamoose (again), and Peach Pit

Hey… So I feel like a lot of your subscribers, uses your channel to discover new artists or songs. And I think that a lot of us listens to the same type of music (wouldn’t say genre, cause’ you definitely cover more than one). So I think it would be really cool, if you made a video about your “your top songs 2018”-playlist, or maybe made one yourself, if you don’t use Spotify…?
