Welcome back to Impact Theory, where we break down the most impactful stories shaping our world. In today’s episode, we dive deep into the unfolding economic chess match between China and the United States, using insight and analysis from YouTuber Andre Jik. As China makes bold moves to distance itself from the US dollar—shutting down paper gold trading, amassing record amounts of physical gold, and building a new gold settlement system—the stakes for global finance have never been higher.

We’ll explore why China is aggressively acquiring gold, what it means for the future of the US dollar as the world’s reserve currency, and how the manipulation of paper versus physical gold could upend long-standing economic structures. You’ll also discover the role of trust, the dangers of unchecked financial speculation, and the possibility of a historic power shift as nations seek to anchor their economies with tangible assets.

Stay tuned as we unpack China’s strategy, what it signals about the future of global markets, and why these hidden moves could change everything for investors—and for the world.

The Shanghai exchange is pulling more than gold it’s pulling rare earths, silver and other crucial minerals we can’t do without moving forward with power grid expansion AI being coupled with quantum computing and robotics…I believe 5his is why we are at war we must control global energy markets

The chances of gold & silver, platinum going up 4 to 500% is about a million to1.They're already reflecting inflationary spiral quite well at their present values.😊❤Greed Kills.😊❤

The explanation of contracts is completely wrong. When you buy a contract, you never buy a claim on physical gold. You buy an instrument that will move in price similar to the spot market, i.e. it will behave as gold. So there is no "bank run" here because, unlike fractional banking, actual gold and gold certificates are not hte same time. In fractional reserve banking, the banks pretend that the money actually IS the same.

How does the market ensure that the contract prices move similar to the underlying spot market? It works because the difference in price between the spot and contract is calculated continuously by the market, and either those selling (shorting) contracts must pay those that own the contracts (long), or the other way around. This pushes the price continuously towards the spot price. Daily interest rate payments ensure this. This is also why it makes no sense when he says there could be a "diversion between the spot and contract prices". That makes no sense.

21:57 wait, isn't gold extremely important in electronics for it's conductive properties as well as in aerospace for it's heat and radiation shielding? And that's on top of medicine production and medical procedures/treatments no?

World is re-arming… reminiscent of 1934. Gold is king. No matter what a nations currency is doing. Countries can always buy in gold. Resources are the future of all growth. As they get scarce, nations start to hoard and stop exporting. Inevitably a fight ensues to control the resources. It has played out many times in history. We’re seeing it in real time. Greenland, Venezuela etc. America adding to strategic minerals list. China stopping exports. It’s a snowball of escalation. The next 5 years will be very interesting.

One of your best episodes ever. I’ve been studying the roles of precious metals for a year now and this was one of the most helpful discussions to link all the actions and behaviors into a cogent description. Great work Tom. Now do one on silver alone.

Also: has the US been secretly stockpiling gold and silver (maybe thru Tether or JP Morgan) as a means to stay competitive? Do WE have undisclosed reserves also?

They will never reach further then the USA oppressive arm. The most takeovers of countries then any other. The most military bases than everyone else combined.

All the wars are about BRICS……..none of this is about Iran….or Ukraine……it's about BRICS.

BRICS is trying to establish a "stable alternative currency" with gold.

Literally ANY time someone has tried to establish something outside the dollar we go to war. Most the wars in the middle east were because of this. Most the current wars are because of this.

Why is it ok for US to commit war crimes around the world throughout history and it is bad for China just to exercise its own defense power?

Finance going forward will be considered a weak mans bluff. Money going forward is going to be based on actual goods with commodities leading. The Western financial system with its shell games of rehypothecation , usury , and derivatives is going to run into the wall of reality where promises are only as good as the goods you have. No goods, No go and the US military is at the end of its rope in forcing people to play the game.
