He came to my job a couple times and ordered a burger from me. He also came to my school, IAIA, and my class as he’s good friends with my teacher at the time. Great guy!

No Cherokee I know is willing to have a DNA family heritage test. Data base is not diverse enough.

I love Ancestry and discovered my treaty signing Ancestors. My 5th great grandfather is represented at the Oregon historical society and signed the treaty of 1855.Pretty interesting. 🙂

These lands of the America's belong to God and the native American tribes! Not the europeans who slaughtered them to steal their lands!! Just like they did in Hawaii and many other places!! The Europeans wanted white power! Buckingham palace and people still don't look at people of color as SIGNIFICANT!

My Federally Recognized Tribe is in Northern California..prior to my mother’s passing several other Tribal leaders went to the Smithsonian to obtain “ISHI’s” brain to do repatriation. This was in the 90’s and I know that the treatment of Indigenous remains being repatriated has finally become a reality. I’m so Thankful. Yes, all my grandparents went to Boarding School and I heard and know many stories about them either successfully completing the education or as my Paternal Great Grandmother fleeing and returning home walking through mountain at the young age of 5’ and 6’ with her brother. Thank you for sharing this interesting episode.
* WES STUDI is a Great Actor. I’ve watched many of his Movies where he’s the protagonist. 🙆🏻♀️🤣🙌🏽

My 3X great grandmother was a Penobscot Indian princess. She married one of the Winslow brothers that came to America on the Mayflower ship in 1620. BTW, no humans were native to the Americas. All came from elsewhere.

My husband's Great Grand Father was a Cherokee Raised and survived of those Schools in N. Carolina..what is rare, is he owned his own store..his wife was disowned by her family for marrying a Cherokee. All we have is one portrait picture…which is also on his tombstone..

I am African American with tri-racial ancestry. My 4th and 5th great grandfathers were full blooded cherokees. Our DNA still reflects that lineage as well as the documentation!
