These people deserve our attention by virtue of their expertise and thoughtful analysis alone! But tens of millions of Americans have been radicalized, and they do not like to hear what very smart and very scholarly people have to say (because Trump says things which are entirely different, and membership in the tribe requires not siding with that which differs with Trump’s claims).
