Charlie Hunnam plays ‘Geordie or Not Geordie’
Charlie Hunnam, a Newcastle upon Tyne native, decides what it takes to be considered a Geordie. He touches on things such as Cheryl Cole, unfriendly “scallies”, ‘Geordie Shore’, brown ale and football. He also recollects the surprising story of how he got his start in acting, landed his role in ‘Sons of Anarchy’ and prepared to play a serial killer in ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story.’

As someone who only knows about Geordie culture from Geordie Shore The minute he brought up that people from Middlesbrough aren't real Geordies It just immediately made me think of season 1 with Holly Hagan saying she's from there and everyone roasting her for not being a real Geordie

Hmm I really like all the work Charlie Hunnam has done. Me thinks however Charlie has ‘accidentally’ got his date of being in JD shoes on Christmas Eve wrong. If he was 18 then this would be Christmas Eve 1998. The production of Queer as Folk Series 1 was from August to December 1998. Ergo if Charlie was ‘discovered’ for Byker Grove it must have been Christmas Eve 1997 making Charlie getting drunk in the pub aged 17! Shock horror but I’m sure no one will surprised. Indeed I’d be slightly disappointed if he wasn’t underage.

This is nice (minus the swearing).
I first learned the word 'Geordie' after watching 'The Gentlemen' in early 2020. A pretty nice movie and it was a good one to enjoy before the crazy period happened to everybody everywhere…
His accent in it got me curious so I did a little research. Before that, the only familiar thing about Newcastle to us is the football team. How many more of this kind of video you've got here? 🤔

My intro to Geordie dialect was "Auf Wiedersehen, Pet" When Oz was talking, we would turn up the volume, thinking we could just blast through it.

I live near Middlesbrough and if I travel south im automatically called a geordie cos of my accent (nothing like a geordie accent) absolutely no one from around here thinks anyone north or south from Newcastle is a Geordie 🤣 even some of the Geordie shore casts aren’t from Newcastle
