I believe the prosecution should reach out to the defense and reach a deal to have the defendant committed to a mental institution not a state prison. As we were watching this trial another mother unalived her 2 year old and tried to commit suicide.

Whose opinion is it that the juror won't follow the instructions. Just because they don't agree don't mean that they are not following instructions. Perhaps the juror is following the instructions and reaching a different conclusion.

I think this case will result in a lot of women not telling anyone about their postpartum depression and we'll see more of these devastating cases. So much for addressing mental health issues. 🤷♀️

Seems there were mostly older women in the jury. Which probably isn’t good for Lindsey. They may not really be up on mental health issues. Why was there more older women than younger?

Massachusetts seems to be really bad at giving justice to murder victims the Karen Read case was such bullshit and a lot of our tax dollars paid for that bunko case

Why I throw aeay jury summonses. It is a focked up system I do not believe works fairly. You have the right to your beliefs and opinion IF they correspond with the favored attorney. But heaven forbid you stick to your own decision. Been there. Done that.
Send Lindsey to the mental institute she needs. Her wheelchair will remind her daily of her horrible actions. She is already sentenced.

😱 I’ve been on two grand juries and we were always burdened by a co-juror that had unresolved childhood issues. 😢
In one GJ I was an alternate and eventually replaced a juror who was kicked off grand jury because he refused every bill,
No billed 100% of the time. Even child sex offenders! The guy appeared to hate the whole legal system.

I was not in the courtroom, therefore do not have all the information. However, from what I have heard, and having witnessed someone close suffer from severe postpartum situation, it seems this woman was not mentally competent at the time. Therefore, I might not be able to find her guilty.

I suspected this was going to happen. Regardless of how you feel about the case, the fact of the matter is that the CW did not meet the burden of proof as required by law. Any intellectually honest person who listened to the whole trial would have come to the conclusion that the case put forth by the defense offers enough reasonable doubt to find her not guilty by mental disease/defect. Even if you think the CW’s theory is MORE plausible, that’s simply not the burden of proof that Massachusetts requires. That’s fine if that doesn’t sit well with you personally, but that is the law. When you agreed to sit on this jury, you took an oath to follow the law, not your personal convictions. Maybe the law needs to change, but a criminal trial is not where that change takes place.
