We were a Protestant town with a Catholic Church and a Catholic school and a low population.
And the highschool was actually very good. But sometimes the Catholic school kids would transfer to the public school to 'socialize them' to, I guess, normal people.
They'd always do great in class and never had a problem socializing though some of them were quiet so we suspect their parents were just too cheap to keep paying through highschool.

That's actually funny. Your friend was such a goody suck up that the teacher was like. 'okay nerd, detention.'

A small memory that always hit me at like 3 am when i'm sleeping about Catholic school was one of my schools nuns making a kid eat out of the trash because he didn't finish all of his food and tried to throw it away, or one of the nuns cutting a girls hair in PE

In the Catholic school where I lived, they did hit kids, yes. But the public school was responsible for the murders of more than 30 kids, just while i was in school 😭

Yo, shout out to my Highschool RE teacher from year 9 and 10 Ms Walsh. who would spend the class just tell us stories about everything from her brother's war stories, to times she got like black drunk, or when she used to work at king's cross, instead of guilting us for jackin it or reading Harry Potter. Best teacher i ever had.
Also, in Ireland i got hit a few times, but if they tried that when i was in Australia they would get sued into the fucking ground.

5:02 the problem with all boys or all girls schools is that boys and girls are pretty much the same. Except for how they are treated by society. Another problem is it leaves gay kids out of the equation, “all boys school means you focus on school and not love” not really it means the straight boys will find girls from other schools and the gay boys will sit in a corner scared to be ridiculed. But your experience is your experience and if you had a good time thats good for you

I went to a catholic school in South Carolina, and we had an exorcism happen once, nothing serious though. Our priest just got paranoid and performed one on the whole school.

I have actually been to both at multiple times in my life and they both suck, my favorite experience was honestly online school for a number of reasons, I know that won’t work for everyone and in person education is incredibly important in a lot of ways ( I’m literally going to college to become a teacher) I feel like everything is going to have its pros and cons and the right thing to do IS going to be different for each student and there family, in fact I’m homeschooled and my brother is public schooled

I went to a christian school from K-8 and it wasnt all girls BUT some weird things!!
1. Health class in middle school was separated by gender obviously, but in 7th grade the girls had to sign/pledge an oath to not have sex before marriage! Anyone who didnt sign that was publically shamed in health class until we graduated. Me and like 4 other girls didnt sign it.. that was unfun.
2. We were not allowed to sit with other grades at lunch. You also were violently encouraged to only sit with your gender. As a whole we were encouraged to only interact with our gender which has violently affected my life perception on people and highschool was a nightmare lol.
3. If you did something wrong as punishment the teachers would force you to sit at the "girls table" (for boys doing smth bad, vise versa for girls) during lunch for x amount of days and you werent allowed to talk to your friends or your gender period during lunch while this happened.
Theres a ton of things but now that I'm an adult and living on my own these are the main things that still stand out to me as a "what the fuck why did this happen"

Living in Ontario is fun because you can have the weirdness of Catholic school mixed with the suckness of public funding. Recently one of the religion teachers from my Catholic high school had to go on leave for saying Charlie Kirk was an asshole on her own personal Facebook while off the clock which was really fucking stupid. Also the communications teacher would day drink at work and got in trouble for chasing a kid around with a golf club.

1:13 in from the northeast as well. Went to public school, but not the city school. But my town was small enough that my friends at the catholic school told me that there was a Jewish individual who was attending the catholic school because the parents preferred organized religious school over a public option. Early 2000's was a fun time.

Thankfully my parents only made me go to Catholic Sunday school while still attending public school so it wasn't as stringent but the religion definitely felt forced on me and now Im no longer Catholic either.

In Australia (my home country) most of the good schools are catholic. However, Australian catholic schools are soooo much less psychotic than American ones. Like, yeah, we had nuns, but they were fucking wonderful people. They maintained a zen garden for the students to use to calm down, provided guidance if we were going through stuff, and even operated a centre next door that helped teach refugees English. Top blokes honestly.

I went to a catholic school from kindergarten to the end of 1st grade and I solely remember a teacher urging me to write with my right hand, while I’m naturally a lefty writer. It got so bad that the administrators threatened to expel me over it, and my mom threatened to sue them unless they left me be.

@B1tchface22
May 22, 2026 at 10:09 am
this whole video is like listening to an older male figure just randomly drop some heinous lore about some trauma they had to deal with but because men aren't allowed to feel anything but rage or apathy they've boxed it away as a funny story, and then you're just there like "should I acknowledge that or drop it???"
also, I didn't go to a catholic school, I went to a private Lutheran school and there was a Catholic school (co-ed) that we shared an alley with. since we were the only 2 private schools in the city we were huge competitors with each other for our sports teams (mostly basketball & volleyball) so sometimes after school there'd be fights between the sports teams and their friends in the alley, espcially if one of us had lost to the other in the most recent game. ppl did get hurt, there were a few times someone brought a knife to these fights and someone got cut up, no stabbings that I recall. out school admins tried to get us to get along and for a few years we'd have combines pep rallies but they were always weird because they couldn't agree on the messages since they always wanted to tie the religion into it but they were Catholic and we were Lutheran.
They had to wear uniforms, we didn't and so their students always acted like we were less than because we were obviously the poors of the 2 schools lol

I went to a catholic school in highschool it was way worse than public schools the drama was constant and never ending and so many rumors and incidents that were buried I wasn’t religious but it was also a school for people with disabilities (as I have) so there was only 45 kids but it was insane with that small amount of kids (so many problems with insane things you would only expect of a first grader 💔)

I went to what was a catholic school but some of the big rich families aged out and the school had to go “public” to get government funding. So it was a “public charter school” when I went. They kept a thousand kid long wait list and only let in who they wanted and we read and discussed the Bible. Great school honestly the hw was just a nightmare. 2+ hours a night mandatory from 6th grade on

Seems pretty similar to public school over here in Australia, teachers are quite nice and obviously don't physically harm students, but the whole uniform head to toe is branded and if your caught waiting generic brand you will be punished, simallar to the suits we where plastic white office style shirts witch get quit hot in the Aussie sun, but do look kinda classy. There's also no lockers here witch i find really odd because lockers seem slot smarter than constantly hauling bags around.
