the plastic bag VS cotton also assumes u gonna use the plastic bag only once… I've used one bag that's getting abit tattered already like 4 times, maybe more…

just dont be one of those people that says they choose not to fly because the carbon foot print is too high. you as an individual are not important, youre not the main character, that plane is flying with or without you and your 60-120kg absence from the planes total weight is not going to make a difference. also, dont go vegan because of cow farts. for every person that turns vegan i increase my meat consumption to compensate and your imitation burger and freshly squeeze almond juice is far more damaging to the environment to produce. also the rest of us dont want to put up with how miserable your are.

It would be interesting to see the scale adjusted for CO2 costs of recycling&disposal. For example, paper or metals can be quite efficiently recycled, but a huge portion of plastics is just burned.

Most carbon emissions come from companies and rich individuals that live extravagantly and push endless consumption. The top 100 companies in the world are responsible for 70% of carbon emissions since 1988. The top 1% of the world emits as mich as the poorest 50%. We as individuals can reduce our carbon footprint, but it will not make a dent if we cannot reduce how much shit we consume in the US. And rich people also need to reduce their footprint, but i haven’t seen very many do that. I’ll be using paper straws every day, but as long as fossil fuel subsidies continue and corporations make products that die every two years, i’m not really sure I can do much!

    Beef burger – 2.5kg to 3kg of CO2
    Plant based burger – 0.2kg to 0.7kg of CO2

    One glass (200ml) of Cow's milk – 0.6kg to 0.8kg of CO2
One glass (200ml) of Oat milk – 0.18 of CO2

The average day of an average meat eater – 10.2kg of CO2
The average day of an average a plant based eater (vegan) – 2.45kg of CO2

It's a shame he didn't mention, that the biggest thing you can do to decrease your carbon footprint is to reduce your consumption of animal products.
