That line, "…he's come back to slap us all!" If I could've fallen out of my chair laughing I would've. I could not stop laughing last night. That was so unexpected. I could see this said in a "gaelic" accent.

I need people to understand that that really is the ending to this movie. That's the only part I've seen and I was fucking floored, wondering what I just saw.

0:37 It looks like this because it's based on a 1945 Rogers & Hammerstein musical so they tried to honor how a musical would stage this.

Man, I remember watching this movie for the first time years back and it made me cringe. I thought to myself, âWhat did I ever see in this movie as a kid?â
âYes dear, itâs okay if a man treats you like s**t as long as heâs good looking.â The misogyny and sexism in this movie made me cringe in general. No thank you!
If youâre looking for a better movie (thatâs not âCarouselâ) about young love (and the consequences of it) that doesnât end well, try Ingmar Bergmanâs âSummer with Monikaâ (1953).
This video made my day. Thank you!

I was actually a bit shocked when Mrs. Mullin used the actual word sluts towards Julie, I didn't know that Hollywood allowed that in the 50's when so many topics were off limits in film.
