Can Our Country Recover from The Trump Era?

Hysteria | June 26, 2026

Franchesca Ramsey joins Erin and Alyssa to dig into Peter Thiel’s secret society leak, the 4-year anniversary of the Dobbs decision, and the TPUSA Women’s leadership summit. Alyssa shared her experience attending the star-studded opening of the Obama Center. Then they wrap with a petty conversation about Tulsi Gabbard, Trump’s health, and TV journalist drama.

We need a democratic president that promises to do better than Obama. We don’t need a cheap imitation. That’s what Biden did and a lot of his decisions did lead us to where we are today.

Boomer here with a word of support-I note that you were the first to dive into Tulsi and her cult life. Haven't heard MSNOW or MIDAS credit you yet, but I do! Good job.

As an Ohioan, I was flabbergasted when the state government went against the voters' CLEARLY EXPRESSED wishes. They did it with the abortion issue and the marijuana laws.

I do feel that Franchesca is capitulating to right-wing framing when talking about abortion. It is nobody's damn business what a woman does with her body. I think that woman should have abortions the way people eat chocolate – whenever and wherever they like. There's so much that goes into the abortion topic: miscarriage even with wanted pregnancies; prejudice at work (people thinking they can touch a pregnant woman, companies being hesitant to hire women in case of pregnancy); pain; lack of childcare options. The list is gosh darn endless. The problem is the right-wing religious nutters who think they own the world and women.

"When Jenny was walking through the reflecting pool, well in Trump's America that would have killed her before the AIDS. ever did" VERY WELL SAID! Reagan totally SCREWED UP the response, just like Trump has with COVID. DISGUSTING.

What Do you think of multi-millionaire (43 million) bestseller Belle Burden claiming financial precarity in her divorce book Stangers & that with her Harvard Law degree she couldn't work because hubby told her not to? Spoiler, I don't believe a word she says.43 m. is NOT relatable.

GLP-1’s absolutely require a healthy diet. If Trump is taking one, and he eats fatty? Fried foods and/sodas, he won’t see a whole lot of results. If anything he’ll see no results or the opposite of weight loss.

41:00 surprise, surprise pumping public money into exclusionary, unaccountable private entities & subsidizing homeschooling leads to ignorant young men & women who have been indoctrinated into believing that interminable servility is the height of personal well-being.

I’m from outside the USA, so don’t expect my opinion will resonate. However, I don’t think America will recover from Trump – not because of Trump himself, but because Trump is a product of the American political system and foreign interventions. The nostalgic glow of Obama glosses over his administration’s interference in the politics of other countries and unwillingness to clamp down on the excesses of the US financial system. He speaks better than Trump, but the failings of Obama lead straight to where we are now.

I am sure there people on the Dialog list that are genuinely innocent in the whole thing, but the idea that Klein is a bit laughable. He is a neoliberal liberal who does not under any circumstances or even consider wealth inequality is problem. He would absolutely defend billionaires and millionaire's like himself to the end of the earth. Have you ever listened to his show? There is a good reason why he supports people like Newsom who is a bankrupt candidate right out of the gate. Because they will never even considering taxing the wealthy to fix the problems we have will continually giving them money with nothing to show for it.

I know you guys are far to centrist (the problem with your network to begin with…) but come on.

I really need a legal medical expert to explain this because in the US, brain death is death. I work in a pediatric ICU, and it’s horrific, but we sometimes have to go to court against families after a period of time after brain death where they still refuse to withdraw whatever amount of life support we’re doing. In these amazing kids, we can replace their lungs, kidneys, heart, and some liver functions completely. And kids are made to grow and get better! Their bodies can sustain that measurable cardiac rhythm (sometimes with complete bypass assistance) for a very very long time, but they’re not alive. The medical criteria for death and brain death may be different, but the legal definitions are the same?

I planned a vacation to Chicago after my brother’s wedding at the end of October…. You know, just a five something hour detour, to go here. It was sold out until November

I’m getting the sense that J.D.’s kids say, “Um . . . Dad, I like to read to myself” not because they do, but just to stop him from reading to them.
