BRUCE DICKINSON BREAKS RULES 🔥 CRADLE OF FILTH drama, new HELLOWEEN, PARADISE LOST & more | MPD57

Metal Pilgrim | January 17, 2026

Cradle of Filth scandal has gotten out of hand and is a clear contender for a soap opera-like drama of the year. Meanwhile Helloween finally released their new album Giants & Monsters… and it is awesome.

Bruce Dickinson started his North American 2025 live tour and prepared a special surprise for all Iron Maiden fans performing Flash of the Blade live for the first time ever… by which he actually “rebelled” against Steve Harris, and Gojira are under pressure with their new album.

Nick Holmes of Paradise Lost joins me for a Metal Chat, and Helstar are bringing the theatrics back to Metal.

Mudvayne are back, new releases by Avatar, Manegarm, Igorrr, Vicious Rumors, Volaj and much more in the new Metal Digest.

Metal is alive and well, so let’s see what keeps it going today. Here you go!

I went to the Bruce Dickinson show at house of blues in Anaheim two weeks ago and it was a great show, but Bruce acts like a diva sometimes when shit doesn’t go right

Been a Helloween fan since 1986. I did not follow the Andi years… I have listened to the new album about 4 times. Overall, I love it!! There were about 5-6 stand out tracks from the first listen. Some of the other songs are growing on me quick. As always, the production is excellent!

Given that Maiden played Bruce's song called Bring Me Your Daughter… it is perfectly normal for Bruce to play his own song as solo artist.

Most likely Steve was aware of it and aproved it.
Also, Bruce already played many Maiden songs, even Quest For Fire, which was played in Jan 2022, and it was a song never played live by Maiden.

Just an old guys opinion but all these legacy bands should do fan favorite deep cuts live as their touring days wind down. FOTB has been requested forever so thankfully Bruce has given us a live version. On AMOLAD they toured the whole album. As a band approaches retirement they should leave a legacy of everything in a live version IMHO.

Not really an Andy question but the bass on Helloween is always prominent so Markus is always heard cutting through, I wonder if just good mixing or what. The line up with all the past singers is such and unheard of thing do they realize how they may be one of the only bands to ever do something like that?

I didn’t like previous album of Helloween at all — it felt blunt to me. I wasn’t into the whole reunion idea either, it just seemed like a cheap way to get money from fans. But Giants and Monsters really surprised me — absolute banger! Helloween showing they’ve still got fire in their veins

I have a question for Andi: Is there a possibility that you do a heavier and darker album like 7 Sinners, Walls of Jericho and the Dark Ride in The future? But maybe even heavier? And also loved Giants and Monsters!

The fact that it is written by Bruce alone Steve can't really say anything – Blaze has done the same for years as well for pretty much any material he recorded with the band not just songs he co-wrote, and will be playing all of The X Factor this year

I was in Anaheim expecting to hear Revelations based on an interview I saw with Bruce. Was totally caught off guard with but loved FOTB. Hope he pulls out Empire of the Clouds with his reimagined, orchestral material. 🤘🏼🤘🏼

Was at the show last night in Dallas, Tx. Absolutely great show by Bruce and the band. He did mention that he is looking to write a new solo album starting in 2026 and release in 2027. It seems maybe the days of Iron Maiden writing a new album are over. Additionally I wonder if Roy Z will help Bruce write on the new solo album or if he is looking to write with the new band. It's great to see Bruce continuing the solo side, however it does feel bitter sweet in that it seems the days of Iron Maiden as a band are closing quickly.

2:33 Question for Andi: Helloween has become the ultimate metal band in my
Opinion. As a singer, how did it feel when Kiske and Hansen came along?
As a fan, I feel we have been blessed and spoiled with the three forces of nature in Metal. I was supposed to see you here in Sweden as my last concert ever. But a broken a car and disability didn't bring me such luck.

We flew from Seattle to Vegas to see him, stood in line from 10:30am to show time. It was an amazing show!! Cried my eyes out during Tears of the Dragon! It was the BEST!! I'll never forget this experience ❤👍😍🤘
