The themes of pride in one's nation and people didn't resonate with me, but that's less to do with the movie than with me. I still enjoyed it quite a bit. The characters were great, especially during their "relaxed" moments.

I finally saw Black Panther and am watching your review now… And I gotta say, I wasn't really impressed. It's not that I didn't like it, it just didn't move the needle for me. I felt the same way I did after watching the Amazing Spider-Man movies. I was watching something well made and well acted, etc, but I just felt like it tread such familiar ground that it finally hit the "all Marvel movie's are the same" spot for me. And after thinking about it more, it really is pretty much the same movie as Iron Man 2: same beats, same villain wanting revenge for what the hero did to his father. Hell, it even started out the same: with the hero jumping out of an airplane after talking about how bad ass they are to their female companion.
If I were to rank all the MCU movies, I might put this one almost at the bottom.

Black Panther was good but not the greatest marvel movie , it's a simple action origin story and what is henry smoking these days it was no where near as good as doctor strange lol. I really dont understand the praise for this movie i mean it's good but people act like it's the holy grail of marvel movies.

It was as good as most Marvel movies. It still had problems. 1 It doesn't explain how anyone knew how to use vibranium
2 Shuri magically solves every problem for example,
Magic beads stop vechiles, hologram car control
3 Tchalla doesn't die after getting stabbed, only doesn't get beheaded because of forest whitaker, and thrown down a waterfall
4 Michael b Jordan wants to give weapons to angry desperate people which is villain like
5 people believe Michael Jordan is royalty from wakanda because of a ring
6 No funeral for a dead ruler who has a secret
7 Rival group leader is an asshole and says he won't help then does as a deus ex machina in the fight when the good guys are surrounded
8 Michael Jordan has almost identical costume as black panther that's left out before he comes to wakanda
9 Tchallas friend joins Michael Jordan over his friend because of a dead dad he didn't kill
10 How do you control rhinos in the last fight
11 The general just stands there and the think stops for no reason
12 Tchalla is in fighting shape after almost dying and drinking that plant juice
13 How is black panther a ruler after losing the tradition to become a ruler
