My first time listening to Quicksand and it ran away with favorite of the month. I'm not putting it on my list proper because it's not really a metal album but it's so good. Anyways, here are my favorites of July.

When you eventually do a “best albums of 2026 as a whole”, you need to have heard “under the under” by growth, if you haven’t already. It’s such a great mathcore album released something like March of this year.

My favorite is for sure Decades from Motionless. They are also my favorite band. My least favorite was Statica for sure, but 5fdp is down there too. The 5fdp album for me wasn't absolutely horrendous, but there were some songs where i was like "alright I'm kinda bored of this" but Statica is just awful.

Bring on the Psychics is easily my album of the month, I was also pretty disappointed with the Quicksand comeback but it's so good to hear them back to fine form. Great lyrics backed by catchy hooks and that proper visceral energy that the music demands while still retaining some variety giving the album some peaks and troughs. 9/10, loved it
