GenXGrownUp | January 31, 2026

There’s no avoiding it – the holidays are here, and the gift-giving season will soon be upon us. This year has been pretty overwhelming from a retrogaming standpoint – more and more shiny new products kept getting released, and it can be hard to keep up. In this video, I recommend some of the most notable new gaming gadgets that might be just right for you or a nerd on your shopping list.

I'm hoping Atari comes out with a case for the Gamestation Go. There seemed to be a bundle containing a case. But, I can't find any information on the case itself.

Seems wrong that the Gamestation Go didn't have a way to play pinball titles vertically. Buttons for flippers on the top and bottom. It just seems like a lost opportunity to squish a table onto a widescreen landscape orientation when the screen can be so easily rotated, unlike most TVs or computer monitors.

Have ordered the PacMan edition console as all the previous retro gadgets I’ve purchased over the years haven’t included PacMan. I’ve bought retro Atari games built into game controllers & the Atari collection for my PS2, but no PacMan which was really annoying so finally I’ll get to play PacMan again.

Fantastic gift guide Jon and great roundup of this year's retro gaming products. This one's going to be a banger! Happy Holidays and keep up the awesome work 🙂

Wow, these companies are really trying to pull dollars from Gen X pockets on all fronts. Don't blame them at all. It's good old-fashioned capitalism and I applaud it. I see basement collections busting at the seams with this stuff. I try to keep my plastic retro footprint low but do love that Intellivision design. Never really a big fan of those games but they put some thought into that package. Fun to see somebody doing a product design thoughtfully.

Thanks John about the heads up on the adapter for the Gamstation Go. I just bought one today and had to grab that! I hope you and your family have a very Blessed Thanksgiving and Christmas!

Great video John! You gave me a few ideas just watching this.

Any word on the MyArcade Shinobi Player? Also, any word on Outrun as well? I'm really looking forward to those 2 machines

I will be getting the Gamestation Go. My employer usually gives us a $50 gift card for Amazon, and I already asked for an Amazon gift card from the fam. 🤟🤟🤟

I pre ordered the intellivision Sprint. Thunder Castle and worm whomper work great sideloaded on the Atari gsg. The dpad works for both games. I'm on v1.1.

Atari gsg dpad still not functional for other Intellivision games. Specifically the up button. No inputs work on shark shark. Weird.

I wish someone would come out with the old arcade title Carnival on a handheld. It should be larger for sitting by the couch. Qbert likely wont ever happen, but I don't know who owns Carnival.

So happy that you showed "Thunder Castle" for the Intellivision. That was one of my favorite titles on the system. Concerning the Evercade, I recently bought a "Miyoo Mini Plus 128GB Retro Game Handheld" from Amazon and it is just as awesome as the Evercade IMO. The 128 GB mini-SD chip is absolutely loaded with almost every game you can think of from all the different consoles and handhelds over the years (up to PS1). I put all of my Atari Lynx ROMs on it (official and homebrew) and they play perfectly. Also, the button layout and screen are the same.
