I don't know about others but this unplugged arrangements from bastille didn't connect or something was off except for "killing me softly" and i get it its the unplugged version but why deviate on the song arrangements when what u have was perfect already to begin with. I call it Detached not unplugged version.

I was left to my own devices
Many days fell away with nothing to show
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills
    Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
We were caught up and lost in all of our vices
In your pose as the dust settled around us
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills
    Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
    Eh-oh, eh-oh
    Eh-eh-oh, eh-oh
    Eh-eh-oh, eh-oh
    Eh-eh-oh, eh-oh
    Oh, where do we begin?
    The rubble or our sins?
Oh, oh, where do we begin?
    The rubble or our sins?
And the walls kept tumbling down
In the city that we love
Grey clouds roll over the hills
    Bringing darkness from above
But if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?
And if you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like you've been here before?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
How am I gonna be an optimist about this?
    If you close your eyes
Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?

Listening to this song after more than a year of a full-scale war, that russia started against Ukraine, is like finding a completely different meaning of the lyrics. Thank you for this masterpiece, Bastille. Hope to see you very soon performing live in the cities of free, independent and peaceful Ukraine. We love you πŸ’™πŸ’›πŸ‡¬πŸ‡§

I used to think Bastille was only for middle aged estate agents who wore Hunter wellies and bought all the tickets for Glastonbury just so they can Instagram it, BUT this has completely changed my mind – unplugged brings out the best in any band !

I only discovered this song a few years ago on the radio and it was playing on the night my town was on fire due to the California Wildfires.
I didn't really grasp the words until a week later when I searched up the song and realized what it was about.
    What a powerful song <3

Remember 2013-2015 era? Vines, Minecraft, GTA5… We still have some of them, even better.

"But if you close your eyes, does it almost feel like nothing change at all?" Memories stays, but life goes on.

I am just stuck in the 90's. This is good, but it's was amazing when you had raw artists that were popular, rather than pop artists simply because they actually play instruments.

Great news, God will wipe away every tear from their eyes and death shall be no more, there will no longer be any mourning, crying, or pain Revelation 21:4 Believe in God's son Jesus today, repent of your sin, dont be left behind. Love Y'all
