    A cop is sleeping with the his ex-girlfriend's roommate, who he's investigating for murder. He then pins said murder on the ex, who also happens to be his psychiatrist. I think the subtext here was that the phrase, "conflict of interest," was practically a way of life in the '90s. It's no wonder that only three years after this movie came out the President would begin "not having relations' with interns in the oval office.

    The main actress in this movie had some interesting stories to tell about "that scene." Like she was actually not happy with how many people were in that room for it. — but yes. Porn had to come from magazines in those days, either by ordering VHS tapes, or just oldschool photography, where they show their bits and do literally nothing else. For any of that to happen, you had to actually take one of those magazines to the checkout counter and buy it from ideally the ugliest/oldest checkout person you can find. Internet porn was still pixel boobs that took years to download and would be interrupted if someone in the house had to make a phone call. That's why this scene was so famous. Real person. Famous actress. Actually good-looking. "Sultry" dialogue. Plausible deniability to say that you were there for the story. Recipe for a winner.
