It's more and more likely fully automated driving is not obtainable soon, but giving a job to an Indian guy and paying for communication tech 1+2 $ an hour is a win for companies who would have to pay a local worker or that same guy immigrating at $12 an hour. So it is very practical in corporate logic that has been outsourcing jobs for decades.

A message from gods knights, the biggest problem with robots that replace people, is they are not customers and will offer nothing to the economy of a country, just make their greedy company bosses more money in the short term, as long term they’ll be limited customers with jobs who will be able to afford their products!! China is now a prime example of how to destroy your country and economy, no jobs no customers no economy no money for the greedy bosses.

Paradoxaly, this service would work best in areas without poor/unemplyed people, while at the same time works to make more poor/unemplyed people

The sidewalk is not the right place for tech gimmick built to make humans unemployed.
It's a side WALK and not a side trundle, so get these contraptions off it. And nope: the cycling lanes are not the right place for this nonsense either, thank you.
PS anthropomorphous robots are crap to impress the gullibles. I do not see one use case where these make sense – apart from war, that is. And I do not like that one either.

Anybody running a business knows that employees are the biggest expense. This anything to limit employees is a huge overhead saving. Remember when it took 100 farmers to maintain 100 acres of farm land, then the invention of huge tractors and now we only need 10 farmers to maintain the same acreage.
How about a whole team of people to build 100 houses. Now with 3d printed homes, only 2 guys can build a whole community.
All about money and greed

We can’t have delivery bots because the bottom 1% of society destroys them.

Being able to buy a robot that can navigate your home, do your dishes without breaking anything, and do your laundry without putting the cat in the washing machine is still decades away.

I want the robots

Funny how the entire video and the comment section skipped the part where people kick the robot for no reason. Is this consider normal because people over there are THAT much of an asshole? Or would they not attack the robot if it's not Amazon? Or are they just waiting for any publicly-favorable excuse to act as a sociopath without being seen as one?

We have these in my area (used by a grocery chain), I've used them a few times and they work well for grocery shopping when you only need a few items. The reason I stopped using them is not because of the robot, the robot was fine it's because of the missing items from every order. You order the items via the robots app but the information is always out of date so when the staff go to pick the item from the shelf it's already sold out. This happened a few times and when you order connecting items it makes the whole thing pointless. I once ordered Dips and Dorito's to dip them into, the Dorito's arrived but the dips were out of stock so I was left very disappointed, and that happened with every order except one so I stopped using it.
