Advanced Dungeons and dragons, lock and chase, auto racing, Atlantis, Tron, burger time, pitfall, night stalker. I might just get one of those to play those games again. I'm tempted

if they bought the rights of the atari, why can't they come out with atari 5200? that is what i would like to see, they came out with intellivision here.don't make sense are they the same company that tried to bring out the colecovision,

Wow… that looks just like the original unit. Very exciting times for Intellivision users! However, I am not one of them. Back in the day, I was an Atari kid. Yea, Intellivision had better graphics but Atari had the games I wanted to play so I never got one. Then by the early 80s I had moved on to computers so that was it for consoles with me for a while.

I find the lack of a cartridge slot sad, but I'll still buy it since you can at least add games with a USB stick. Also, if there is enough interest in this console, maybe Atari will release a model with a cartridge slot in the future.

I really like this product !. And if it work as promised, it´s awesome !. They have kept the original controllers but made ém wireless, I LOVE THAT ! ❤❤❤ . It´s like "the best of two worlds" (O.k., so Intellivision HAD strange controllers, true !. But that is a basic part of the Intellivision experience. And if you don´t like that, it´s probably Intellivision itself you don´t like).

About the console war: Not really a thing actually, i would say "bullshit" really. Perhaps among the rich kids, but since all knew that Intellivision was superior in almost every imaginable aspect, why would an Atari guy "go to war" with an "enemy" that had the best "weapon" anyway ?. And why would an Intellivision guy mess with an Atari User, when he knew he was "the winner" anyway ?. But really, not all could afford even just ONE CONSOLE at the time (and building up a collection of cartridge games for a such was a painstakingly time consuming thing to do, because cartridge games were pricey AS HELL from a kid´s perspective !). And if you owned an "Atari" or an "Odyssey 2" from before, and had invested heavy in those console´s cartridgeses, GOING OVER TO INTELLIVISION was not a realistic option for the majority of kids. If you DID NOT had an Atari since earlier, but suddenly got the chance to have a game console, you would almost for sure have choosed the Intellivision. Because THE GAMES WAS BETTER obviously !. So what "console war" are we talking about here ?. I had an Atari. I knew some guys who had Intellivisions, Colecovisions, Vectrexes, Odyssey 2´s and of course various so called "home computers" (and even more with just knock off pong consoles or no console at all). But we were never "in war" with each other !. I knew they had better stuff than me, and it was simply not much i could do about it. STARTING OVER FROM THE GROUND UP, WITH A
N E W SYSTEM´S SETUP OF CARTRIDGES, SEEMED DAUNTING !. Hell, i think i had almost ten Atari games at the time, and was on my way to finally have about 15 in the end. Anyway. Intellivision was a very desirable product for me at the time, i admit that. NOT AS MUCH AS THE COLECOVISION THOUGH (that arrived at about the same time as Intellivision and Vectrex to Sweden), but still. The first "war" i remember was "NES vs Master system" (but there yet was ten NES owners on every SMS ér, so it wasn´t really a thing anyway. Later, computer nerds had their own war though, with "Atari ST vs Amiga". But THAT WAS REAL !. Then of course, The "Mega drive (Genesis) vs SNES" boys). The truth is that i often discussed games at the times with guys who had other/better systems than myself on the schoolyard. After all, "Demon attack", "Pole position" and "Pitfall" was "hot stuff" for twelve year old´s at the time, no matter what console you had !.

So: If you want to have more games on your Intellivision sprint then. There´s no SD card port here as it seems. Do you plug in the USB stick with the roms on, and then play direct from that one ?. Or do you load them over to some internal flash memory inside the console for storage ? (and how much capacity has that one ?). And about the controller overlays: They comes with overlays for all of the 45 (?) game titles, o.k. fine. But where do you get more overlays for future added games ?.

How about Minotaur dungeons & dragons revenge of the Minotaur -do they have that one-that's my favorite with the labyrinth going down three levels easy medium and difficult

Sorry I missed ya at the show!
I did pre-order the intellivision as I want to play it on Stream when it comes out in December.
I am hoping Atari can do a USB cart where it plugs into one of the USB's in the back but not sure if that can be done or not.
II am wondering if Atari will sell flash drives with games on it that would be interesting.

I had an Intellivision for a month, but my parents returned it after Christmas because they couldn’t pay the credit card bill. Got it from Sears and it was their only credit card. I can still feel the pain of coming home to find my Intellivision gone 😢

Astrosmash is the quintessential Intellivision game. I'm surprised, when you were skimming through the games on this new retro console, you passed by it without saying anything.

The size of that console is awesome. I hope there is a good sized machine in there so it could handle having the rest of the missing games & other retro consoles & controllers added later through SD cards or modding. This looks so good thanks for the coverage.

one thing Atari is missing updated retro game systems is cool but update the games they have Atari had the worst games in the 80's they need to have a system compatible to all those retro games we enjoyed and the new ones today what good is a updated system with old games that had horrible graphics

There are definitely a few awesome games not included, but I LOVE how the company included a way to add your own ROMS. First, the inclusion on Utopia is the best, but I’ll definitely be adding Beauty and the Beast, Pitfall, Tron, Worm Whomper, Skiing, Poker/Blackjack, and others.

Pre-ordered mine on day one and can’t wait for December.

The promotional material they have MIGHT have a typo though. They say with an adapter you can also connect original Intellivision II and II controllers.

Did they mean original Intellivision and Intellivision II controllers?

I wish it came with more games like: Microsurgeon, Atlantis, Beauty and the Beast, Donkey Kong, Carnival, that Casino game that came with the system, kool-Aid Man, lock n chase, burgertime etc… i think its cool but even cooler with more games. And $100 – $120 is a better price point.

This is fantastic! I have a full set of roms I got years ago but could never get a USB controller that was just like the original.
I can't wait to play my favorites like Burgertime, Dracula, AD&D, Snafu, Beauty and the Beast, Lock n Chase and Mousetrap!

Very happy to see Atari roll out the Intellivision. I believe it to be an under rated console that doesn't get enough attention in the retro gaming world. I'm sure I'll be picking this up at some point once the kinks are worked out. Nice video update from GxG as always! 👏

Nice idea. BUT – the basic games selection included is a huge disappointment.
They say additional roms can be added via USB. Ok – which one precisely? Where to buy them, ready for play? No answers on that yet.
