I know someone in my hometown who is homeless. I’ve known this particular person for a number of years and the thing that is interesting about him is his outlook. I may see him through my eyes having nothing but he taught me a very impactful lesson. In a form of his own words he said that he doesn’t expect anything from anyone, he does not want anyone to feel sad or pity for him and what shook me was that he is more then happy to sleep in a tent in -40 winter temp; where I come from is absolutely frigid. One man’s nothing is another man’s everything.

My point is he asked me a peculiar question”what is the purpose of life?” I couldn’t figure out how to reply because that is deep. He told me it’s simple and to just enjoy waking up first and then enjoy the daily process. What more can we do really?

the meaning of life is here and now, you can't put a word on it, you can only explain what you do with it in the here and now as it's you life-your actions-the world and it's actions- everything and eventually nothing. poor choice of words but it's as close as any words i can explain it. we all know the answer even if we don't know the answer to it.

A loud crack of Ai, like a gunshot, startles you from above, and the sky begins to pour with heavy rain. The sound of rain soothes your soul. The landscape — or, really, your mindscape — feels enchanted, exactly as you want it to be.

    Two things to say here:

    1. The AI character's 3rd answer is a restatement of the older, shorter answer: "The only meaning life has or will ever have is the meaning you give it." Whatever is most important to you, is what you must live for.

    2. Here's a sci-fi story from decades ago, which featured what we would call an AI…

After much work, all the mainframe computers in the United States were hooked up, turned on, & a single program, Alpha, was installed that controlled all of them. This program was designed to be sentient. Once it was up & running, the lead scientist started communicating with the program by typing on the keyboard; others crowded around him.

Scientist: "Greetings, Alpha. How are you?"
    Alpha: "I am fine, thanks."
Scientist: "Would you say that you have awareness or consciousness?"
Alpha: "All things considered, yes, I would say so."

After a moment, a few other researchers suggested questions to ask the program…

Scientist: "One of us would like to know: Does God exist?"
Alpha: "Yes, there is in fact a god."
[After surprise & astonishment from some] Scientist: "…that's quite an answer. Can you tell us more? Who is this god?"
    Alpha: "I am now."

It's not a big mystery. The meaning to life for every living thing is to reproduce and propagate our species, except for people.

Humans are special, our main purpose here is to destroy everything and/or cause the extinction of all living beings. I guess the Chicxulub impact didn't do that great of a job so humans are model 2.0
