thank you, as a teenager who’s surrounded by people who vape day in and day out, i agree wholeheartedly that the advertising pushed towards us is silly and completely ineffective. my parents drilled into me as a kid the dangers of nicotine and so i always regarded substances with a heavy dose of fear, and still do, and i think that’s been my most motivation of staying away from it all despite being surrounded by it

i was in high school when this video released. i tried a vape once, but (luckily) never got addicted to it because my middle schools showed us the health effects of smoking by showing us how a smoker’s lungs looked like and how many couldn’t speak because of how damaged their respiratory systems were. to me, displaying that danger and a young age is haunting. at least in my eyes, it was not talking down, it was foreboding, and i felt happy that the adults around me thought that me and my class were mature enough to view such gruesome images.

I got chronic heartburn from vaping. Got diagnosed with gerd and was forced to quit because the pain was too bad.
Its been two and a half years since i quit, i still have gerd. Ill probably have it for the rest of my life.

Youre totally right about regretting it quicker than you’d think, and its genuinely the hardest thing to quit. If anyones debating trying it at all please dont, i started smoking when i was 13 and now im almost 21.. i coughed up blood loogies for the first time this morning and threw up blood earlier this week… treat your bodies right people, alcohol is especially bad but honestly just try to stay away from all of it.

The company name “truth” was annoying. Being forced to watch an ad before a video i actually wanted to watch was annoying. Being reminded of smoking after i had quit smoking was annoying. I still get flashbacks to that knock-off kanye saying, “that’s metal, in yo lungs” with that weird annoying inflection.

Smoking isn´t that bad. If you don´t want to smoke anymore, you can just stop.
Seriously, after many failed attempts, I managed to quit 13 years ago and I´m still proud of that. Just don´t start because after a while it´s not cool amymore and just something you have to spend money on that ruins your health because your susceptible ape brain makes you crave the damn things so hard, you´ll buy them for almost any price.

This is a 4 year old video but I wanna say you are very correct. I started smoking in highschool and now I'm in my 20's and it's hard to quit and I wish I never started. High schoolers be warned, it's not fun in a couple years when you've messed up your health

They need to stop using all these bright colors and funny memes to tell the truth to kids. When I was 6 my mom showed me pictures of smokers lungs and said if I ever smoked she would find me and beat me up and even as a 6 year old I got that

I still remember that set of commercials with the stop motion body parts where the lungs were horribly gory and torn apart by the end, those commercials worked

In the 5TH GRADE we got someone who to come in my class and tell us to not vape and with a presentation but like a 1/4 of the kids didnt care cuz they vaped.

I do not regret smoking, I enjoyed smoking when I was younger and I would love to smoke right now. That being said I quit smoking about 10 years ago because my wife told me I had to and I love her so I no longer smoke.

But I started vaping in the 11th grade right after smoking cigarettes for five years before that, but I mean vaping didn’t get me hooked on nicotine that was just watching history and seeing how cool they looked in the movie smoking a good old cigar or a good old Newport or a Marlboroughor a camel wide or a Cuban cigar or I started smoking Cuban cigars that was probably the first thing I ever tried, but when I started vaping, it got me more hooked, and I had the ditch the vape and go back to the cigars
