@1:27:12 – Relying on faith when faced with a difficult concept or train of logical thinking is not an ability to advance reason while not being able to comprehend that concept of train of thought, it is the abandonment of reasoning entirely.

Just because a concept is one you find difficult to comprehend right now does not mean no one else can comprehend it, nor does it mean you will never be able to comprehend it. Most five year olds don't understand compound fractions, but that doesn't mean they will never possess the ability to do so.

On the other hand, the simple act of not being able to logically come to a conclusion we want to be correct through rational reasoning does not mean that we aren't able to arrive at that conclusion because reasoning is flawed. It can absolutely mean that the conclusion we want to reach is false. Operating on faith that something is true when there is no evidence to support it is how you develop biases and actually deters you from accepting and living in reality.

@1:25:10 – "The Establishment" is always borne of Religion. Across human history, authority over other men has almost always been derived through some mythical authority; If authority is not bestowed at the alleged command of a deity directly, then it is inferred through the perceived adherence to some moral purity assigned by religion.

The only exception to this rule that I know of is humanism.

If it becomes less popular to have your worldview informed by fact and human effort, then it will be because the men in the shadowed halls of religious buildings who want to control the rest of us will have won a battle in the war for self-determination. All Religious faith is built upon a fatal logical fallacy, and on which a self-supporting belief system cannot be built.

Modern Christianity (and all other deistic faith, for that matter) isn't "bad" because there just happened to be people who were white supremacists or oppressors who just happened to be religious, it's "bad" because those belief-informed political systems were designed, built, and justified BY religious beliefs, which no other religious person has the authority to claim is not the "correct" interpretation, explicitly because of the logical fallacy of appeal to authority that is presupposed in all deistic faiths. There is a fluidity of interpretation built into the very reasoning models used within religious belief systems by design, and it is for that reason that no actual knowledge can be built within them.

Without evidence of God there is no rational reason to build the necessity of one into your worldview, and building one into your worldview without evidence of its existence is building your worldview on a fragile and unreliable foundation of sand.
