    @1:20"I think Death Grips is important…" 🙄

    @5:13".. but isnt that incredibe..anyone willing to push the envolpope of art and music.." blah blah blah, what?? 🤦‍♂

    …the dude talks about a cut up hooker-in-a-bag and how having experienced the stench of their rotting bodies so many times is such a drag in that very hit single you just referenced:

    "Head of a trick in a bucket, body of a trick in a bag And thrown in the fire like fuck it, gotta burn it before it goes bad One too many times been disgusted by the stench of rot is such a drag, yuh Get broke by the street like blood stained glass, yuh Choke on these nuts till the very last, yuh" – MC Ride 2017

    … but i digress?

    The entirety of Niggas on the Moon is pretty much unlistenable to me. I RESPECT the album as an experiment, but none of the songs grab me AT ALL. It's the only album I don't like.

    I tried Death Grips a while ago when my friend recommended me Money Store. I can appreciate being experimental, but after listening to the whole album, I only remotely liked around 4 songs on the album (Get Got, Hustle Bones, Double-Helix and I've Seen Footage) after the second full play-through, with only two being memorable (Double-Helix and I've Seen Footage). For reference, I very rarely dislike an album, but this and bands like Black MIDI, I just can't bear.

    It’s weird how much your impression can change. The first time I heard them I thought it was just a bunch of white noise and screaming, but after a few listens to their albums I started ”understanding” it. It actually started sounding like a good song with great melodies, amazing drums, catchy verses and hooks and an overall hype and intense sound.

    I love how he’s analyzing this but we all know if you’re a fan of death grips you’re either going through something or mentally insane

    Rumour has it one time Oloff was sat next to Jar Jar Binks on a flight. Jar Jar kept kicking the chair in front of him and generally being obnoxious, nobody knew what to do. Eventually one of the flight attendants came over and asked Oloff if he would perform one of his songs to calm Jar Jar down, and when Oloff began rapping the first verse to Doing It Stealthy, Jar Jar immediately relaxed. To this day the two are still close friends.

    FUCK I love death grips. Someone let me know if I'm the only one, but the only DG album I instantly enjoyed wasn't an album, it was Ex Military. Back when it dropped I loved it, but every subsequent release challenged me. After a time, I eventually came to love every single release of theirs, but it always took a few listens.

    The I've Seen Footage music video is one of my all time favorites. It's so simple, but so clever and maximalist, which is one of my favorite things about DG. They just pack every frame/moment in their art with anything other than silence. Death Grips is loud and constant and as someone who has a brain that just doesn't stop, it's fucking perfect!

    Hot head is amazing!!!! You just gotta wait till the verse. “Self inflict-ed, What you tell em? I just told them Hells exist-ence” one of my favorite lines.
