i really like all the criticisms formed against FIFA (lowkey one of the most evil corporations😂) and hooligan (or we call it ultra in europe) culture here, but in the end saying that soccer is bringing this danger and violence to america, when everyone in europe is scared of going to the world cup because of the constant news of assassination attempts and shootings in the us, feels a quite one sided. i feel like this whole world cup in the us sucks bc americans dont want ultras going there, and dont want to be paying for all this with their taxes, and europeans dont want to travel there either, and if they want to watch it from home they gotta stay up until like 4am

Never really cared for soccer but in HS and college some of my friends were obsessed with playing the EA Fifa video games and invited me to play a few irl pick up/skirmish games and I turned out to just be naturally good at it even though I never played before. Tbf I was also a cross country runner and played ice hockey so I guess I already had the stamina/agility and the foot work/coordination .
