The corporate media is all in for profits and clicks… So they take the most brutal headlines, and/or underreport facts, in order to appear 'balanced' in their reporting. Which makes it all more right wing, as the MAga republican extremists are constantly generating extreme headlines and opinions.
In the 80ies the fairness doctrine was abolished by Reagan. Fox news came after that. And the fairness doctrine only applied to public broadcasting and media.
But that said: Yes! There should still be a fairness doctrine; objectively reporting on the news and events, without the blatant lies that are all over the place now, under pretensions of 'entertainment, or opinion ' … Which makes it harder for common folks without full media discernment time to get to the real facts.
Vote for democracy all over the Ballot, so they can enact real change in the laws and policies! 💙✅👍🏼

Honestly the only news programs I have trusted for years is the daily show and late night talk shows. Seriously comedy shows have become the only source for facts. I don’t trust anyone but Jon Stewart and Steven Colbert. I know it sounds crazy But it’s true.
