Agua Caliente “Tamit Enanqa” Wellness Warriors
Check out these amazing Wellness Warriors! The Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians hosted the 14th Annual Tamit Enanqa- Cahuilla Learning Day on March 17, 2018. The Cultural Preservation Committee invited residents and other Cahuilla descendants to come explore and learn about the customs, traditions and history of the tribe. National UNITY Council’s Pacific Regional Representative Tashoni Morales created this video of her region’s culture sharing. Watch her video of the day which included traditional games, rabbit throwing sticks, rock wall climbing, youth tug of war, bird songs & dances, teaching traditional foods, Wildlife On Wheels, cultural arts, basket weaving, beading, rattle making, interview with elders on language preservation, Cahuilla Bingo and other wellness teachings!
The UNITY Wellness Warriors Program challenges native youth to host community gatherings like this one, to promote indigenous wellness teachings and across the nation. Send UNITY information on your Wellness Event to la.buford@unityinc.org and contact your local Executive Committee Regional Representative to attend. We are proud of all the work our UNITY youth are doing to create a healthier future in Indian Country.
