If Michael Schack isn’t one of your favorite drummers yet, especially when it comes to electronic music and hybrid drumming, it isn’t too late.

Here’s how he’d play “Black Betty” on both an acoustic and an electric drum set, starting with a drum part that reflects the original 1977 Ram Jam tune before breaking into a modern remix.

0:00 Tama Starclassic – Red Sparkle Fade
1:29 Roland TD-50.

Check it out! Dare you to not tap your feet the entire time.

gotta say un this one acustic wins, but i can assure that it depends on the genre or music, cause in one as agresive and energetic as this one, definitely teh acustic wins

I love both ❤️ My 20 year old son is great with the original. Plays by ear and can keep up with all his favourite heavy metal bands..but I also got the electric for my 8 year old because he is hearing impaired on the left. He love the drums but it’s to much sound for 1 ear. With the electric, he can adjust the sound & he’s also very tech savvy so it was perfect. I love Nine Inch Nails & would love to see both in play. Heavy with a bit of dance techno. As a parent, all you can do is encourage their interest ❤️

Electric is awesome and great for quick set ups, but nothing beats the feel and sound of an actual acoustic drum set. Both are still great and unfortunately for myself I had to sell my acoustic set but the electric is still a solid instrument and fun to play.

That's a very unfair comparison. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a Nissan Leaf instead of a Tesla when judging ICE vs Electric motors. You should have used the Yamaha DTX900, just for the size and show-boating look, but sounds-wise ALL Yamaha modules have ACTUAL DRUMS SOUNDS in them. Roland makes crappy synthesized stuff.

Judging by the comments, many people are misinformed and don't know this, which is sad. Yamaha wins in terms of pad material (quiet, not fake bounce) and real sounds. This video demands a reboot.
