A Solo Performance & Review of the Aeros Loop Studio + Beatbuddy

Benn Jordan | November 9, 2025

Easily the most powerful looper available, and easily the most immediately addicted I’ve been to a particular piece of gear.

I've used many, many loopers (Aeros Loop station, EHX 720, Pigtronix Infinity, TC Helicon Ditto, BOSS RC 5, 10, 505 and 600, and Loopy Pro) and I'm now back where I started with the Aeros Loop Station. The only thing I didn't like about the Aeros is that it does not have an XLR input. But aside from that I think it is by far the most user friendly looper on the market and just sounds better than any other looper I've used. The RC600 is an incredible machine with so many capabilities but it is so freaking complicated. Loopy Pro is by far the most versatile and customizable looper, but again, incredibly complicated and thus frustrating to use. So, if you are not concerned about not having XLR in, the Aeros is the way to go. And if you are using the beat buddy, the Aeros is really the only way to go. I'd been using the BB with the RC600 but have had so many sync issues that I just can't do live gigs with that combo. BB works flawlessly with the Aeros.

Great hands on review! Trips me out watching you play that guitar upside down though! Just curious….. Why couldn’t he play live because of Trump? In 2025 this didn’t make any sense. Was it a covid restriction thing? Honest question.

Just got the Aeros and still figuring out if I like it. I'm typically trying to map how I did things on a RC-1 and the RC-300 I had for a month, but I need to learn how to use the Aeros.

And though it doesn't have a drum machine like the RC-300 or 600, using it with a BeatBuddy sounds better and this video is going a long way to making me feel better about the path I'm down. I came on tonight looking for BeatBuddy integration videos and this is a great one.

    Thank you. Earned a 'subscribe'

If you were integrating a guitar pedal board, but you also wanna have midi keys like a novation what would be the most ideal way to route? I’m making the assumption that a DAW would be required. Let’s say Ableton.

Oh my word! Great video. If I am not mistaken, I saw the bottom portion of an Sy 1000 in there. If so (hence the opening exclamatory) too crazy… because I have nearly the same setup, including a Schechter. Thank you for going deep on this subject.

Can your setup reproduce an actual song like loops for intro, verses, bridge, and outro. Say, some thing like Boston’s More Than A Feeling or Paul Simon’s The Boxer or Fleetwood Mac Don’t Stop?

I enjoyed your video! How did you get the great bass sound on the first improv? Do you have a video I can watch on your site to explain how you get a good bass sound using the guitar. I currently have the Boss OC-3.

have been sitting here watching looper videos for the past 4 days deciding what to get next and all i want is a pedal that i can pre determine the loop length in bars (so i dont have to rely on my terrible timing). i just dont know if thats possible with anything other then a daw (wanting to get away from the computer obviously) and even been looking at hardware samplers, nothings cutting the mustard

Ben thats really crazy, because i could tell almost the same story. I had a vhs from that concert and Jacos loop performance had huuuuge impact on me too! I was 10 years old at that time and i was dreaming about to have that cool unit too.

Have you ever used the BASTL THYME I've had mine a couple years, at times it's daunting but it does seem to be a bottomless well of possibility, and in my opinion a great tool for experimentation, I really would love to hear your take/opinion on it.

Very cool style, like your stuff. Soundtrack mania! Would love to know what your thoughts on that HeadRush Looperboard are, that’s what I’m usually now but I’m bummed about the “switches issue”.

I am on the verge of ordering one, but just saw a video by the Ricky Tinez guy who claims that this looper doesn't send midi clock upon closing the first loop. Have you tried the having it as the master clock?

ahhh, that self indulgent moment. It's nice to think that you are in the room jamming next me, I will get my lap steel out!!! <3 UPDATE!!! Been listening further into the video and this has really helped as I am in lockdown and it feels like a personal performance 🙂
