The Lie Millions Wanted to Believe: Inside the Biggest Crypto Scam in History | ENDEVR Documentary
The Ultra-Rich Kingdom the World Doesn’t Understand – Inside Qatar: https://youtu.be/5Q-I_7MQKJs
Lie to Me is the story of how tech nerd and blockchain expert BjΓΈrn Bjercke overturned the OneCoin pyramid schemeβthe biggest crypto fraud in history. But more than that, it is an exploration of greed, villains, nerdy heroes, and personal tragedies in both the digital world and real life.
Launched in 2014, OneCoin promised to be the worldβs biggest cryptocurrency. However, all legitimate cryptocurrencies run on blockchains, and OneCoin never had one. Months later, Bjercke was headhunted by a recruitment agency and offered a large salary, a car, and a flat to build one from scratch. Realizing the lack of a blockchain meant the entire operation was a scam, Bjercke immediately went public.
Yet, others who were offered similarly lucrative positionsβand also knew it was a fraudβaccepted the jobs. Why do some people go along with a scam while others blow the whistle? Why were millions so ready to believe in OneCoin, and why do so many still refuse to admit it was all a con? How can we learn to spot these red flags?
BjΓΈrnβs story is supported by a rich trove of archive material, featuring interviews with fraud hunters, journalists, crypto experts, and victims from Oslo, London, Stockholm, and Uganda. Since the fall of OneCoin, BjΓΈrn has worked with global authorities to expose new, rising scams that use the exact same formula. As he warns: βItβs still the same message. Recruit more members.β
This documentary first aired in March 2024 at the CPH: DOX festival in Denmark.

A crypto currency that is a scam? oh no /s
Seriously only around 2 to 5 percent of all crypto coins are actually legit and stable. The other 95 to 98 percent are all pump and dump or elaborate ponzi schemes. Still doesn't change the fact that if you;re thinking of getting into crypto don't as buying them is stupidly expensive and becoming a bitcoin miner is also stupidly expensive.

This seems like an excellent documentary, but my concentration on what was happening kept getting broken by the commercials every 3 to 4 minutes.

Simple: Any crypto you put 1 buck in and sell and get one buck back within 10 mins and any crypto you put 1 buck in and can't get buck Back = bad, and ANY crypto you can't put at least one buck in, STAY AWAY.

Captivating documentary that seems unfinished, or unpolished. No subtitles, cheap internet meme clips, and a bit overlomg. Didn't finish it through.

The social scientists are trying to explain. I don't know if they're scientists or sociologists. They're trying to explain that it's about belonging in a group, blah blah. This is typical psychobabble. It's nothing like that.

Outstanding editing. The pacing, transitions, and emotional beats were exceptionally well executed. The way the editor wove together the visuals to emphasize what the people were feeling in each moment made the story incredibly engaging. Every cut felt intentional and enhanced the emotional impact. Beautifully edited from start to finish. Thank you!
