The race for a fake AI God is over because we need more electricity power than china to run graphics cards.
Righto

If American can't make a citizen that smart and hardworking like China did. What make them think they can win China? Main thing is culture and mindset. Look at these Chinese parent in US. You all find them very competitive while in China are more tense than that 100 times. In US is like easy win for them but in China.. they're just…like ordinary. Now, US citizen ready to work that hard?

Is it better China or the US wins the ai race? Which power would be most dangerous as a "winner"?

China doesn't mind burning coal, and we'll have plenty of power when we need it…

Capitalistic power companies in the US are loath to upgrade infra because it cuts into profits.

We are billions (with a 'b') that are already routing for China, and we all know that US and the west are screwed. The difference is spend resources for a purpose, or for profit. Western Oligarchs shot themselves in the foot – long ago..

$IREN is sitting on 3GW of power with 100s of MW coming online in the next 8 months….Still only a $5 billion market cap sitting on a gold mine. Not financial advice..but worth a look

However for now, NO military is equal to the US military. Its like mutual assured destruction.

China’s population could be under 1 billion people. Reduced demand means less electricity consumed (I.e. over production).

Need to get light-based chips and computer-AI tech online asap – 1000 times faster and massively more energy efficient – this will shift global competitions a tad 🤓

i suspect they (US) have the highly intelligent Ai models and are relying on them to crack nuclear fusion for energy and basically will be letting AI give out the instructions because at this point it can know more than humans combined

China has not won anything, stop with the propaganda nonsense. China’s AI is still built on chips controlled by the US. Stop being a shill.

Transmission lines and interconnects take forever to build (and permit) in the US. New thermal plants (e.g., natural gas) maybe 5 years. (There's also a shortage of gas turbines, which are not easy to get quickly). Nuclear is 2030's, at the earliest. Solar+storage maybe quicker (say 1 to 2 years?). But the problem is that it's not 24/7 base-load.
So if one is in a hurry (next 5 years), I'd co-locate a data center in some sunny area (Texas, Arizona, Saudi Arabia, …?) with solar+storage. (There is also the issue of water for cooling.). This is just to get started with something, even if it's not all the electricity one needs. This is for training (where one needs a large coherent cluster). Easier to ship data than electricity. Also, don't insist of strict 24/7, but have some allowance for demand-response depending on the conditions. I know this is not ideal from the CapEx utilization for expensive GPU's. But one needs to get going. And training is not real-time critical. It can take pauses.
For inference (even if one needs to be real-time), one has more options. It can be more distributed. And there are more options of distillation, compression, less intense hardware use.

If china has beaten the US already even with all setbacks, roadblocks, and restrictions they deserve to win this is the difference between living in a democracy and living in communism

What if future AGI models didn't need that level of power.
You can run your brain on a cheeseburger and it's more advanced than
whatever is in these datacenters.

doesn't america have >60% of world's cloud compute, gpu's with at least twice the energy efficieny per flop and all the world leading models? besides what import total national energy when is a race to creating first AGI model and then have it auto improve across all inputs for maximal efficiency before distribution and global domination? literally it takes just one AI company's training resources to achieve the AGI break through moment.
