In response to the- we suffer more in imagination that in reality. Do we not also rejoice more in imagination and even exist more in imagination also?

My main criticism of Stoicism is that its ethics and its general philosophy seem almost entirely disconnected. What does temperance have to do with radical acceptance? It doesn't really seem like a unified philosophy so much as a group of disconnected ideas mushed together.

stoicism is alright, and good for a lot of people. im of the belief that a lot of CBT is based on it. but imo, as someone who is disabled, its not as good for disabled individuals. for that i think absurdism is more preferable

“The truth never harmed anyone” but why do people say “the truth hurts”?

I didn't expect to find it so funny when I gave negative visualization a try.
You could be dead right now. You could have gone to bed last night and not woken up today, but you did wake up.
I actually laughed when I realized this, and I still find it a bit amusing. It's not just me, right?
Anyway, that's it I guess. We're alive. Isn't that kinda cool? ¯_(ツ)_/¯ Some force of nature could have put an end to it, which would suck, but it didn't :3

Im a teenager that faces problems as anybody does, but still doesnt have enough skill in dealing with them internally nor externally. Ive been exposed to stoicism and have tried to practice it on my own but due to lack of material or just pure laziness haha I cant seem to get a proper grasp on it.. but now Ill try to seriously develop it, so is there any books that can be recommended to further my understanding of stoicism?

If stoicism was a religion it would be the correct one

Why should I be "good" if death is the end of everything? What is being "bad" is more fulfilling? If so "reason" tells me to be bad. This whole stoicism thing is full of problems.

The antidote to uncertainty? Trust/faith. Also, humans have no "nature." And reason? Well whose reason? Why can two people "reason" their way to different conclusions, look what "reason" has done to the environment, etc.

Wasn't bad til you tried to use propaganda as a example of external circumstances. Remember that climate change is a normal part of nature and there's zero proof that man can be of any influence. What you've heard is mostly lies.
