A day in the life of a wolf
We are excited to share a video that is probably unlike anything you have ever seen before: an entire day as experienced by a wild wolf! The video is quite long because it shows everything this wolf did at 5 minute intervals from morning until evening on an early June day last summer.
The video provides a one-of-a-kind chance to see life through a wolf’s eyes, so to speak, but please be advised that there is some graphic predation-related content in the video, particularly near end.
As you will see in the video, the typical day as a wolf involves traveling large distances looking for food and sleeping. Worth noting: the wolf did make a kill on this day but that doesn’t mean a typical day for a wolf includes killing prey. Far from it. Wolves typically go ~3-5 days between kills.
Notably: this camera was on lone wolf O2L who traveled into northwestern Minnesota before crossing the border into Ontario. Wolf O2L was on the east side of Lake of the Woods when his collar dropped-off as programmed. For those interested, we use Vectronic-Aerospace camera collars and they have worked perfectly for us thus far!

I see you learned from last time and gave him a little shave XD It seems like, in addition to the occasional snack, most of the day is spend patrolling the territory borders. Lots of interesting smells.🐺

This is amazing the footage is great he really was moving I wonder how much milage did he cover through out that day because he was definitely moving only stopping for a few minutes at a time 🐺

I do not think that that would be wise. Because if it was on top of the Part of the neck You might only be able to see When the wolf's head is down and I'm not sure how comfortable it would be for the wolf to have The Caller camera on the top rather it is on the bottom which it seems comfortable enough.

Thank you. I watched it all …. In 2 sessions. Got a little sea sick. It was not unlike a FaceTime conversation with my youngest granddaughter when she’s holding the phone (and waving it around). But I enjoyed it. Humans make live so damned difficult, especially under this capitalist system.

Sickening to see these brutal predators. Minnesota deer hunters are tired of seeing part of their hunting license going to pay for the wolf management. We have far too many in this state, we'll over 3,500

What an amazing video and achievement. It is interesting to see the animal's everyday life. It is a lonely life for this wolf. Running in the silence of the woodland.

This was really interesting. I am sure it was a fortunate wolf who has fawn for breakfast and dinner. He passed a lot of farm fields so he was moving fastest in human territory. Lots of traveling and napping and drinking water in shallow spots. Thank you so much! More! 💙🌙🐌

Starting around 21:13, when the wolf has the carcas, it licks up bluish-white specks scattered around the ground. Are these natural or a man-made pellets? I'm worried it might be poison meant to harm the wolf.

the 2 black spots on the wolfs lower jaw/neck are ticks. 2:43 you'll see it's legs
