A Bucket of Blood (1959) – Monster Madness 2024

Cinemassacre | October 14, 2026

It’s Cinemassacre’s Monster Madness: A Tribute to Roger Corman! This year we lost the film legend and king of exploitation cinema Roger Corman, so I have a handful of reviews coming this month to honor his legacy. I’m going to focus on his horror and monster films, with a lean towards movies he’s directed (and some he produced), beginning with 1959’s A Bucket of Blood.

Check out my other Roger Corman tribute – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJr8bdDSgJ8

Question: In The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother 1975 directed by and starring Gene Wilder there's a porter at the train station who, I believe, was played by Roger Corman. Its when Sherlock Holmes and Watson depart the train disguised as women (at the start). Can you confirm if that was RC?

Please make the 1994 Frankenstein film made for TNT available for public viewing again, I haven't noticed that it's private before I tried to binge-watch all past MM episodes just before the last year had ended.

I just love hearing how people did movies in those days. NO budget, borrowed sets (or sometimes just making movies because they had a set or costumes or whatever), just anyone who was there acting. It must have been really exciting.

There's a movie called Amores Perros where a dog gets trapped under a hardwood floor, his owner keeps trying to get him out but the rats eat the dog at the end of the movie. It's a crazy Mexican movie with some very known Mexican actors.

Roger Corman was the GOAT. In an industry built on a tradition of gatekeeping, all you had to do to be a Corman regular is have a bit of talent and be ready to work. Nobody in entertainment did it like him, truly one of a kind.
