either he's telling the truth about his technology, in which case he's knowingly making millions of people lose their jobs and creating a superinteligence that cannot be controlled, or he's a liar and is scamming people out of billions and billions of dollars fully aware of the economic backlash that will occur once the music stops. In either case, does this seem like the kind of person who would have any issues at all with doing a little war profiteering on the side if it were actually possible for them to do so with their product?

I really value this video, I was genuinely much more on Anthropic's side on the fight and felt they were taking a principled stance against the military. I felt they were pretty sympathetic. While I felt the risk the military would use the A.I. to take control of the decision to open fire was overblown. The risk they'd use it for mass surveilence seemed plausible, should be pretty good at just taking in massive amounts of surveilence data and spitting out, well something certainly. 😛

OpenAI seemed to support them up until they actually lost the contract and then they flipped within hours, pretending they were enforcing the rules Anthropic asked for, while actually not doing so.

I'm still suspicious the CIA etc might want to use the tools for mass surveilance and will use ChatGPT for that now. But it seems the cynical view that Anthropic was taking the stance just because they thought it'd make their IPO even bigger and just weighed the risks and decided it was OK with losing the millitary contract (or didn't believe the military could afford to actually do so) in return for getting to "sound the alarm" on how amazing their product was.

I think Wall Street Millenial and many channels here need to pull their head out their asses. I’m doing the work of 50 engineers at once. I don’t know if that is super intelligence but it definitely makes me super something.

Anyone asking how they make sure it doesn’t mess up…. I do that in the exact same way I did with a human except the human never f***king improves.

Wall Street millennial- I want to express my respect for your work. The sober resistance to hype is so useful in these times. Example, LLM can NEVER be conscious and this Anthropic dude knows this. Thanks for your resistance

You're incorrect – Palantir's Maven Smart Systems is used with targeting tools for the military. Palantir does not create foundational models, they use Anthropic under the hood.

This is where the value and feud occurs. They are not using Claude for just 'chatbots' and 'mundane logistics'. To add further, you can design a lot of other systems with foundation models as well.

I cannot agree that what the Trump admin is doing is a good thing. Forcing companies to bend to the will of the president(to spy on americans and have AI used in the kill chain) is not something I find acceptable. If they want these kinds of radical changes, they should be forced to at least make them laws

"A country of geniuses with a datacenter" except that the datacenter was converted into a warehouse after the chips and power equipment never showed up, and the funding never came through

Sry to brake it you, but he is probably right. 2-3 years for 80% for AGI scope is probably what we are looking at.
The question is if the Claude Code self leak was really just the deprecation of npm installer or related to /mnt/transcripts/ removal cock block the other day.

Not one cpu can gain consciousness without having nerves. There ate are a lot more things that go into consciousness than just word matching and random words matched by the program. That just means it’s taken the words and what it was trained upon was human…. Meaning it will mock the same sounding threats and mistakes because it’s not trained on anything truly good or bad. It’s a mix of 70% terrible and 30% factual, and current information going on. Fancy Alexa is all this stupid shit is. I can’t believe that so many people especially older fall for this. It’s like young kids and old farts that fall for it too easily. And don’t want to believe the truth because it’s not as fun…

Anthropic may not deserve much sympathy but compared to the folks who are bombing schools in Iran, it's not hard for anthropic to look good.

12:54 The way I read this, it doesn't sound like they told Claude this was a fictional company or instructed it to (fictionally) blackmail. I don't buy into the AGI hype, but this test result was a bit weirder than you make it sound.

Do these people ever listen to their interviews and see how cringe they are. No supposedly intelligent person talks like this. They sound like a used car salesman trying to convince us the car they're trying to sell us can turn into a giant robot.

it will never not be funny to me that Amodei is like "AI is like nukes" and then is suprised when the Pentagon is like "OK, not unlike other (non-firearm) weapons, we get full control". Like can you imagine if like Northrop Grumann or Lockheed got to choose when we could respond to thereats (nukes included)? Insanity. Anyone saying Anthropic is in the right is essentially just thinking about Trump. I don't want any unelected billionaire in California or any state deciding how or if the military can respond to a threat. We elect people fof that (the President) and he and other elected officials (congress) and senate confirmed positions controls the unelected bureaucrats and external contractors. It's just insane to me. It's not like protecting us from anything, it just would expose the military to getting fucked over by Claude. Also Hegseth is oiften derided as a "Fox New Host" instead of "a graduate of Harvard and Princeton" because people want to diminish him. I don't really like the way he talks in public about the war and stuff, but he's not dumb. He probably believes MORE in AI because he is smart, can see usage for it, and his some peers probably work in AI or at least heavily use it , but may not know the actual feasability of the roadmap (who really does, it is all PR stuff now to raise capital).

The AI bubble is a comedic display of a bunch of elites, too blinded by their lust for world domination, to see the absurd fallacy of their reckless AI spending. This is the billionaires version of day trading or playing slots in Vegas.

7:03 AI will be more powerful than nuclear energy? I had to pause to see if that was an actual quote that was being sent or did you add that part. Well turns out you added that part. That’s the beginning of a narrative and it also reflects your intelligence level, whether you said it or not you echoed it. How the hell is AI ever going to be more powerful than nuclear energy when it all runs off of nuclear energy you get no data sinners without nuclear energy. You see this is the problem with your content creators narratives layered on top of facts or quotes is how people get miseducated, but you don’t care you don’t care that was a stupid thing to even echo whether you said it or not I don’t care you let it come off of these airways, and if people just accepted and don’t be critically then guess what you just made them zombies you the content creator, the one making money off of this yes you how the hell is AI gonna be more powerful the nuclear power when it runs off of the nuclear power you’re talking about you guys gotta stop this man. Obviously you’re not engineers. None of you can think critically or you just choose not to you’re on a hamster will of creating content and this is why you guys take exaggerated shortcuts and no one and I mean, nobody should actually take what you’re saying seriously oh by the way in the space deal directly with energy sit on the board of a mining company multiple government contracts that’s why I can tell you you are full of shit AI there’s nothing more than LLM that’s it. It’s not even truly AI. But you guys need to pay your bills, so you will lie lie lie, and create whatever content or whatever content based on whatever trending topic just to get likes and views, we used to talk bad about the Corporate MEDIA well looks like you guys didn’t get the message because you’re doing exactly the same thing as them you’re not educating anyone

Lost me when you started justifying Hegseth to hate on AI harder… fuck that, that’s super irresponsible journalism and I’m not supporting this channel anymore

Regardless, not handing skynet or anything that might be the bases for it to the American government is a good idea, regardless of his mental state or intentions
