It might help to have a compatible pear tree nearby, but pollinators also prefer other fruittrees like the apple and plum over the pear. Attracting masonbees (or similar) might help cause they are solitary bees and don't communicate to eachother where the tasty apple flowers are and some might go for the pear flowers. Although the trees are close enough together that they will probably also figure it out 😅

Morgan, what kind of pumpkin is that? You could try planting another pumpkin, one that squash beetles prefer like Blue Hubbard, as a trap crop.

Finally getting back to this video! Sorry, I did see this yesterday, but I’d just gotten home from work after a long, full week and I knew that I just didn’t have the concentration to properly appreciate the magnificence that is Alison’s garden tour! So there are always exceptions, but Brussels Sprouts are generally a biennial plant, the sprouts don't usually form until the second year they're in the garden. So if they're not really producing this year, let them overwinter and they will produce next year. That being said, I don't know if they'll overwinter well in Vermont, but hopefully that's helpful information. Good luck!
